Gazu is nice but coupled with the new turban it seems kind of sketchy from a defensive perspective. I don't like ambu cape because of -inventory and cause of losing a different usefull stat like stp or double attack.

I also assumed if you GEO melee you'd sub /NIN for dual wield and then you'll want to reconsider your earring and belt choices to cap DW.

DW /NIN, you'd probably be considering a DW+10 Ambu cape and leave it at that (79% DW). Your other most practical choice would prob be Suppa+Eabani for DW+9, which would be worse offensively and kills your ear slot flexibility.

Single wield, Null Shawl is pretty nice.

I do agree that Gazu already makes me a little nervous due to poor defensive stats, so using that along with another armor slot with mediocre defense isn't great.

Kind of reinventing the wheel needlessly from a GEO perspective though. 5/5 Nyame for 20% haste, solid acc and some other offensive stats from augments (DA from B path), and keeps you nice and safe. Get the last 5-6% from belt or ring, whatever you like. Arguments for either one, really, and if you care about the DT- or have significant augments on it, that might sway you more toward Alabaster Earring.

I can't think of a single instance in modern-game where I would want DW on GEO and not a mage support job instead, but if I did want it, I'd probably sub DNC for utility (Waltzes, Steps, Status Removal). GEO has a pretty cool Occult Acument set that puts them @ 1k+ in a single nuke with the SAM's roll. If you use Aeonic, you get higher effective TP, though Maxentius is lovely if not concerned about a wall with RDM's Black Halo. Most mobs are Aspirable nowadays too, so you can refill MP repeatedly and keep OA nuking for TP. I'd single wield and put up Haste Samba for the jobs that might need JA Haste (WAR, for example). Is DW TP speed faster than Single Wield (ignoring DW gear) with Haste Samba? Curious. Though, you can DW a Ukaldi offhand and still OA nuke for TP for better numbers, in which case you can disregard capping your DW because your TP speed will be based on your nukes/MP pool and not your swings.

How do you keep MP up if you occult accumen nuke for TP and then spend TP on damage dealing club WS?

Geo melee is fine. You TP in 4/5 Nyame, never die, never get enfeebled, and still do about 10% dps if well geared.

I can only speak to Sortie with personal experience, but I can get off ~3 nukes for OA purposes before I can't cast a T5 spell again. At that point the target should be dead (non-Aminon ofc). Of course, group efficiency will vary and that might not always be the case. Once dead, I put up Indi-Refresh while running to the next boss. Full MP by the time you get there. Rinse and repeat.

For Aminon, you just Aspir your heart away between WS / OA / Absorb-TP recasts (very active fight for GEO).
