One of my favorite things about this game is when you proc something that makes your attack more than once in your round. The only other game I've played with a similar mechanic was Battlechasers, where a class had a skill that would allow him to attack again if he crit, up to 5 times. Do you guys know any other RPG where things like DA can proc for additional attack rounds?
I remember one of the FF3 versions I played, by using proper gear, the chars hit like a machine gun.
Maybe FF12 also had some accessories like that.
Xenoblade(s), etc
That I dont think those multi attack that unique trait nor a defining factor in FFXI.
The thing about FFXI us that by mixing deterministic factor with probsbilitic factors to compute dmg, they create such convoluted battle mechanicc that is like honey for those theory crfts and researchers.
In the original Final Fantasy I, as you leveled, you would get multi-hit attacks. Monk could get up to 8 attacks and fighter up to 6 or so depending on the mob.
Vagrant Story on PS1 was a RPG from square soft which had multi attacks although they don't work with a % chance like they do in FFXI. IIRC you could chain multiple attacks in a row, quite a lot of them IF you have the right timing and the window gets smaller each time you add one to the chain.
