Just recently returned to game-
I’ve tried to craft these new cursed gears, I’ve gotten roughly 20 hqs but they have ALL been hq1, no hq2s. I’m wondering if there’s some prerequisite to be able to craft hq2? Or do I need subcraft support or gear to reach tier threshold? Or am I just Really unlucky?

Any help be appreciated

You need to add some skill to reach t1 on your subcraft.

If you equip a Lucky Egg while synthing it should help your HQ rate. Make sure you have the right moon phase/compass direction and cross 4 sets of fingers as the synth completes.

Thanks for the help, I had thought this, but I swear I’ve hq2 on T0 synths before.. but I could be wrong it’s been awhile. So basically I need to farm torques for sub crafts now.

I kinda already showed this, but a bit more evidence/info.

You can HQ2 and also skillup, up to 70, on the new recipes. This was with torque (+2 skill) and main craft image support. So 69+2 and 110+12

Just to confirm, is 71 subcrafts good enough for HQ2 or is 72 required? Asking because the idea of farming more crafting torques after a day in the boyahada tree with nothing to show for it is gonna bring me to tears.

The other thread mentions 71 but I've seen people recommend torques, not sure why.

I'd rather slow grind up guild points for those subcraft +1 items if 71 is good enough and I can get away with it.

71 is good, I was curious myself so I tried a few synths with leathercraft sub, and I do not have the torque, just the gloves for +1 and I was able to HQ2 with just 71 sub. so it looks like the synths are 111 main craft, and 60 subcraft.

I wanted to slightly jump in on this topic here and ask about adding +1 subskill at the cost of +1 main skill.

For smithing SU5 weapons for an example.
Should I drop a +1 skill equipment piece for a +1 in a sub craft?

Goldsmithing can get a +1 head piece. (No swap needed)
Bonecraft, I would have to swap out the body pieces.

This would put you at
123 Smithing
71 Gold
71 Bone.

Su5 weapons and JSE necks don't require any bonus subcraft skill. It's possible you could sacrifice some main craft to get a bit of subcraft and not hurt your chances, but it's absolutely, unequivocally, not required to make Rostam etc.

Also...is there an echo in here...?
