TheTreantAlliance: 2003's Twinkling Treant Images

The recent server wide event of Omega and Ultima Forerunners reminded me of an old event back in 2003 where SE created another server-wide event.

SE created an event known as the Twinkling Treant Event. Each server had to kill a large, Twinkling Treant over the course of several days (maybe a week?). I was on Ragnarok at the time and you were given a level 1 status effect (IIRC) and it took our server several days to kill it. I know that Ragnarok wasn't first, but boy, was there a dedicated group of people aiming to damage that Treant day after day. I feel like there were multiple regions with 1 Treant each, on every sever. IIRC, the server who managed to kill all of the treants was rewarded with Outpost warps on their server. (If someone can remember specifically, if there was 1 Treant per server, or a Treant per outpost on ever server, let me know!)

Anyway, an RL friend named Taiken created a Linkshell from the group of people who participated in this event. This Linkshell was called: "TheTreantAlliance". One of those members, Saeryn, has shred those photos with us here.

Lakshmi killed them all, there were multiple. I don't recall one per outpost but I know I fought them outside the cities and I think xarcabard or something. Might have been one per outpost.

I definitely remember 1 outside of each city, so there was definitely more than Treant to kill on each server. Thanks for clarifying!

I was just starting out, up to lvl 10 or so, when that event was active. I do not know how many treants there were overall but I helped kill the one in the North/South Gustaberg area.

I remember doing this event when I first started playing on Diabolos. I remember running outside and seeing the treant checking as Impossible to Gauge and had no idea what that meant, and seeing 40 people constantly dropping dead to it.

There was one per region from what I recall, and the reward was that we got access to outposts in each region.

Looked through my own pictures, but I guess I didn't do the event or didn't take any pictures.

They should bring back a silly event like that again that the newbies can enjoy too. Make it have high def / low atk so it only deals/takes 1~5 dmg, and give it a billion HP or something stupid.
