Sure, but if I'm ever doing a VDBC or something then I'll be using it and it's the most significant improvement to my MNK since Godhands (almost a decade ago.)

It's lovely for that. That's not a billion dollar argument.

That's an I'll use an HQ food this time, argument (or food at all, most times)

I think it's been confirmed that if multi attack with higher priority procs it doesn't deduct gil but what If the enchantment is active but you also wear a bunch of regular double attack gear, does the -gil still proc every hit or does the game distinguish between enchantment and regular gear procs?

From what I've read here so far, it seems like any DA will cost 1000 gil with enchantment up.

Just tested, WAR with 100% DA (69 in equip, 28 trait, 5% JP) was still getting billed 1k gil per swing.

I'm guessing it would never be better than Temper 2 on RDM?

You'd just use both. Though the bigger loss there is you lose regal gem, but if that's not a concern no reason not to. T2 just puts your TA to round 37~%, still got the other 63%

Went out and tried it on THF in Ronfarue single-wielding. My first 4 swings didn't consume gil. The 5th swing did. The 6th swing, I used Assassin's Charge and it didn't.

TA (and probably QA) blocking it seems most likely.

6% base + 5% merits + 8% gifts + 38% gear = 57% TA rate so that isn't crazy

Unfortunately, the better it is for a job, the less gil you'll save this way.

Um, how did anything in Ronfarue survive more than 1 hit?

(I believe your conclusion, i'm just a bit perplexed at this)

I presume the macro test dummies would consume the gil and be great for testing.

He said he was getting charged OHKOing on MNK, implying that despite being one swing, it was still registering the attack round as a DA.

It says "single wield THF" but if you kill first hit it deducts 1k gil as if DA was going to go off? (even though the attack never happens?) interesting.

So it's obvious they just reused the code for virtue weapons for the double attack ammo, right? That's why it procs before everything else.

No, that's completely wrong on every level

It's literal DA, and procs exactly like DA, just as expected

except QA/TA are still occuring before the DA. It's just an enchantment that gives DA+100, DA consumes 1k gil

Hes NOT getting deducted gil because those swings would have been triple atks.

At the start of the attack round it's calculated what QA, TA, DA procs will occur, then they are applied to the target.

The Ammo's DA is determined to have proc'd when you go to hit the bunny, but then the bunny is dead after the first hit. Behind the scenes the DA was still determined to be called up and ready and that's what they are seeing:

1) a TA proc (forced using THF job ability while single wield) takes priority over ammo's double attack, and no 1k Gil fee is assessed.

2) you are assessed the 1k Gil fee for any procs determined to be available at the start of an attack round, even if an earlier hit within the attack round (or WS?) got the final blow and the physical hit of the ammo's DA proc never even got a chance to land.

Edit: the only thing from what people are evaluating that's not clear to me, is can a gear or job trait DA save you Gil from the Ammo's DA?

Smack first rabbit in one hit, dont get charged gil, triple attack procced and supercedes double attack

Smack second-fourth rabbits in one hit, dont get charged gil, triple attack procced and supercedes double attack

Smack fifth rabbit in one hit, get charged gil, triple attack didnt proc, attack round falls to double attack which charges due to enchantment active

It would be the same thing on any job that has some form of QA/TA and those multiattacks proc. Once it gets down to Double Attack, and you have the enchantment active, you get charged 1000 gil for the attack round. It doesnt matter where the double attack comes from, be it job trait, equipment, buffs, etc. If the enchantment is active and you proc a double attack, you get charged 1000 gil.

Alright, I added it to the wiki.

I expect that Virtue stone-style OAT (also Dynamis weapons) can also proc, so if you were to use an OAT Rostam with an offhand and Hoxne Ampulla and no QA/TA, half the time you would swing 4 times and half the time 6 times per round.

Why 6? Follow-up attack can only proc once per round.

Obviously, I was just trying to understand the methodology since the gil loss (or not) is observable (for reasons stated) since the actual attack rounds cannot be observed.

Unless I'm misunderstanding what you're trying to say, just because we do not observe it doesnt mean server side it runs a QA/TA/DA check on the attack round.

Byrth said he OHKOed 5 rabbits in a row on thf without having gil deducted, then the 6th deducted gil. The only logical explanation is the first 5 rabbits were OHKOed by an attack round that proced triple attack (even though the second and third attacks never happened), the 6th rabbit was not a TA attack round.

I did an Odyssey C run on SAM* last night, and it cost me a little over 300,000 gil in procs.

I thought the dynamis weapons were like virtue weapons and gave another chance to proc multi-attack. Does it still cap out at # multi-attack procs per round?

Doesn't work for COR but, for example, could a WHM with Asclepius/prudence rod proc a FUA on both of them?

I imagine this is what they were referring to, though you'd need to remove the ammo to put on virtue stones so it wouldn't work with the aman trove ammo.

Wiki says only once per round but I'm not familiar with how that testing was done.
