For me I've never been on a cruise but the whole "hit 6 different continents over a year" world cruises thing seem like a great bucket list item.

Get to see so much of the planet and if it costs less than a year of rent for you, seems like why the heck not etc

Nada. Bucketlists are for when you don't like your life, IMO.

just get to know my sister's kids better. all the family I have left, but they've been on the other side of the world for a while

My brother (only sibling) doesn't bother with my kids. He lives far away but he's selfish anyway. It's a shame because their only other aunty (mum's side) lives halfway across the world, as does their only grandfather (my dad died recently). They have no cousins the same age either, just second cousins they see on a rare occasion.
