So earring pretty awesome and cape is meh but great space saver then?

Edit: ok earring and ring good, why does the magic damage cape have store TP? Appears to have no use? I mean it's FFXI so has some use but looks kind of bad.

Cape looks good for front loaded str/Dex WSs (Tachi: Mumei, Maru Kala, maybe end of list), but I agree that earring seems to be the priority.

Feels like agility and vit should had been included. They wouldn't had made really a big difference in damage but helped replacing some less used capes.

Murky Mantle looks like the least valuable accessory to me.

Edit: unless it is accidentally just the alabaster earring augments again!

Is the OP right? Every item has the same all acc+15, all attributes +10, store tp+5%? Doesn't seem correct or I'm reading it wrong.

It's very good as an inventory saver, and also has the same place as Null Mantle - for all those jobs that you don't play too much and didn't bother making an ambu cape (or made an ambu cape with only 20 stat). For me it's at least inv+6.

yeah but null mantle is more than just an inventory saver.
This wsd back piece is kinda backhanded
Without you guys posting this data we could have been chasing these augments for weeks.

That earring could not have have come at a better time for me.

So earring is all around good.

Ring is just Dring with some extra sprinkles, not huge but a good piece still. Spell interrupt with large DT, Evasion sets, ect.

Magic cape, Helix? high magic damage but no MAB.

WS cape, space saver if you don't want to commit ambu capes to some jobs that you still use, maybe solid for str/dex multi mod specific ws?

I wish Murky Ring would have been resist all elements +10 instead of meva +10. I mean, I'll take any defensive stats on an already improved D ring but we are sorely lacking for good gear that has elemental resist.

SCH gets a JSE cape for Helix, so at least not all the time?

My data was wrong when I concluded ear/ring good, mantles bad, but it ended up being right.

So lets play devils advocate for a sec
if these capes end up with more ranks in a subsequent update how much further would the existing stats have to go to be good
the str dx would have to go past 30 but I don't know enough about the magic damage value

The enmity -10 on the cape kinda kills it. I understand what s-e is going for here, but the dt on ambu capes is so much better. If the strength and dex was 25 each it would be a lot more appealing for weapon skills with those stats. And with no agi or vit its not even a consideration for a bunch of weapobskills. It’s fine for an inventory saver, but I’ll be building the earring and ring before that.

Not if you've played regular for years - you'll have made all capes you need already. Also, it isn't a 5min job like Null Cape... it takes a LOT of investment, and over another item you can augment instead which is better anyway.

earring: all amazing, literally no complaints.
ring: crit, really? only place i can think to use that is in odyssey to better proc gaol NMs. should have been crit evasion instead, sTP, sird, status resist, elemental resist, etc.

melee cape: excellent space saver once fully augmented.
should have had all attri.+ like the ear to be fair to other stat mod WSs. enmity- is also bad since your tanks can't use it with that there. DA or PDL would do so much better there.

mage cape: if SE screwed up and it's actually MAB+25 instead of MDMG, great. otherwise, dumpster material.

... Helix cape for /sch!

and ring should have been all pet stats +10 or pet damage +5~10% instead of crit

the pet acc teases w/ no power boost is really frustrating.

Great piece for DT TP for a lot of jobs. Great DT WS piece. Cap haste without waste for some jobs like COR with emp legs or DRK with 5/5 Sakpata.

Amazing piece. Saves 40m on STP/DT ring and the crit rate is great for evis and VS.
