There's no reason to for something mundane like posting here on the forms.
You (and I, and many else) are paying the price for the laziness of the rest of the world. I know multiple people who no longer write their own messages at all, and are wearing down their ctrl, c, and v keys instead.
I am getting so good at rolling my eyes really hard when the first thing anyone says is "I did this with AI".
You didn't do squat ***. And I'm so sick of hearing about "AI"s.

NMs are great.
Also those bare Alabaster Mantle and Murky Mantle are screaming "augment system".

My understanding of the "matter" is your server has to kill NMs, the more you kill the better your chance of drop from chest is. Only from chest I think. First time through, everyone is guaranteed a matter. After that.. i guess you could get 5 a week if lucky? Kinda like the 3K or 5K deal but hopefully with better odds. When you upgrade with further matter. It reads like units don't come into it at all so maybe can not horde them and just go back to spending them? Not sure. But no one should see a matter till next week. Doesnt matter if you participated in a kill or not. But these things are popping a ton so imagine on asura at least the matter rate will be decent.

If you zone in somewhere and everything is black (minus your character and NPCs/homepoints), then it means you're using some kind of HD texture pack. The client experiences frane delays when loading higher density textures, and this can cases black screens and momentary synchronization issues between the client and server. If you find yourself spamming a macro or button in situations were you would normally expect these presses to work consistently, you could be throttling your client's performance with these mods.
(This is just one reason why I don't use them).
A black zone (where your character and other players exist and move), just means the game could not load the zone file.
This can either be a hard drive issue (bad sector, failing hd), possible file corruption / user file error (upload something in the wrong place etc), or the game ran out of ram and could not load the file (XI is allowed to use 2 gigs, no matter how much ram you have on your PC it is only allowed to use 2 gigs). Windower (and possibly Ashita) attaches itself to XI and uses that ram allocation too (although this rarely eats enough ram to cause problems), and also any HD mod eats into that allowance (HD maps included). However unless you really go overboard with mods (the 2nd really large ashenbubs pack being an example of going overboard) then you're almost never going to have problems with HD mods causing black zones.
Even if you do, you can use the 4 gig ram mod Thorny made to double your allowed ram use for XI.
I've used mods for 8 years, and I've had a black zone once and I don't even use the 4 gig modification Thorny created.
Another issue is that there is a small memory leak on XI if you're swapping characters a lot on the account (muling a lot), and if you do this day after day and never restart the game you're going to hit the ram limit at some point. The way to stop that, is to just restart the client every day / few days (this is why I almost never have the problem, even though I use a lot of mods and swap characters a lot).
so:
It's ok to use mods, but beware of the x4? ashenbubs pack cause that is way too big (imo). If you do use that, then use the 4 gig modification Thorny made.
Aside from that, restart the client every few days (if you're having black screen problems) and if you mule a lot consider restarting every day (this also causes problems where the chat log can keep blanking when you full screen the chat log, you'll notice if you have multiple accounts that the one where you have the most alts and cycle through them is going to get it first)

Tbh the fast cast cape they added pissed me off. Sure you can use needles to reuse a cape but really they should have let you trade them back for a back voucher and all the materials. A slap in the face for all those that took the effort to make them for every mage job, and even then we still have to make them for other jobs.
I expect the mage cape will get int and mab and replace nuking capes completely, but I'm not sure the wsd cape is going to be a winner since some jobs need vit, agi, Dex capes and they can't put all stats+30 on it or it becomes op for ws with two stat mods

Depends on the augs! For the WSD one at least, I can surely see it become better for instance for situations where you don't have specific capes.
Like for instance I have a STR/WSD cape I made for a STR based WS, then I have another DEX based WS and I still use the STR/WSD one because I didn't bother to make a second specific cape.
For all this sort of situations this new cape is likely gonna become a better option.
But when you have a very specific one... well, probably it won't.

Early on the NMs might be annoying/challenging but depending on where the graces cap out they eventually become a similar push over to what domain invasion dragons are.
Last I checked graces gave +800HP and at least +18 to all stats.

Also I expect they take normal limbus points to buy? Or will they be sadistic and make it a random chance to obtain them from chest each week and they are augmented with limbus points?

Most likely can, as long as they are the dyna-d style of RP based upgrades. Dyna-D and RMEA style upgrades have their own resource, so should be able to at least find the 4 options if they're that style. Might not be able to determine which item each goes to, though.
Delve-style RP based upgrades link in the sub attributes differently, those can't be mined.

So we have SE trying to do things about overcrowding on certain servers but continuing to make systems that benefit players to be on larger population servers.
Smaller servers will kill NMs less and already have way less grace.

While true, the grace value doesn't mean much, and I'm sure it won't be difficult for smaller servers to kill 4 NMs per day, that's not exactly a tall task.

You guys zoned in Tavnazian safehold yet?
All i see are the homepoint and the npc.
All the rest is black, and i'm bound next to the hp

I solved with the stupid files repair from pol and then re swapped the few dats i use.
It's kind of weird, it's the first time it happens in years and the .dats i use are just the icon ones, hp,brd songs and cor rolls, no hq packs, just manually swap (i know...i know).
Oh well, just spent half an hour doing something different lol

Naturally they add a way to get more cheap alex a few days after I turn in my 30,000 for Tizona...you are all welcome.
The accessories could be interesting depending on the augments available. I'm all for (potentially) saving more wardrobe space.

They want you to be on the populated server. They incentivize being on the populated server. Then they complain that you're on the populated server.
They ain't. The brightest.
...... if they do some sort of increased rate, it will be based on kills per server, hence the push to balance servers instead of tilting it to asura in 1 week. Which is really stupid, which means thats what they're planning.

i really don't think this is going to introduce much extra alex to the market, though i'm sure there are a few people who mindlessly acquire points and don't consider value proposition that will buy them

Wern't they undead whilst they're supposed to be demons since they're on the demon wing?
Its the opposite. They're supposed to be undead (they still aggro low HP) but they appeared with the demons and they were classified as demons. Hamanoha affected it, which was incorrect.
I wonder if they moved them to the undead floor, they were out of place.

if you assume 15 min for 400 besieged points, an average 12.5 alex per purse, you're getting a whopping 66.66 alex an hour from participating in 4 besiegeds, never mind the context switching and unpredictability
i really don't think this is going to introduce much extra alex to the market, though i'm sure there are a few people who mindlessly acquire points and don't consider value proposition that will buy them
This is a good point. We have at least 1 more update to Besieged, I wonder if they'll add anything else when that happens.

from what I understand you check if the chest changed colors. if yes, no need to kill more NMs.
nevermind, that's for the previous week. so all that really offers is a quick way to tell if your server met the goal last week or not.

Apparently not, which is kind of a weird system, but I guess they didn't want players missing out on the bonus simply because they couldn't make it out to an NM within that week.
Do the NMs drop an enormmous amount of points for the effort (like 5000+)? Because I can't see people running out to Temenos/Apollyon to participate (at least on larger servers) if there's kind of no benefit to doing so individually, and the chances someone else will kill it is already high.

Ya know, I'm happy they're adding more endgame shield. However, I wish they expanded the jobs that were on it. I appreciate that all of these job have native shield skill except SAM, but I don't expect to see them using this thing any time soon. I would have loved to see BRD or GEO on it.
