Ring and earring will be useful for their dt and hp on the earring regardless of augments, will have to see augments to see if the capes end up actually useful but hopefully replace at least some jse capes to get inventory back.

Lvl 135 should be nice too, I don't see anything about rewards for actually being the ones defeating the NMs, I'm hoping at least a decent chunk of points for upgrading AF/Relic+4 otherwise it will just be a few people clearing the NMs and everyone else leeching the benefits.

All i see are the homepoint and the npc.
All the rest is black, and i'm bound next to the hp

If you zone in somewhere and everything is black (minus your character and NPCs/homepoints), then it means you're using some kind of HD texture pack. The client experiences frane delays when loading higher density textures, and this can cases black screens and momentary synchronization issues between the client and server. If you find yourself spamming a macro or button in situations were you would normally expect these presses to work consistently, you could be throttling your client's performance with these mods.

(This is just one reason why I don't use them).

In reality they'll either not 100% replace current ambu cape equivalents or we'll just use abdhaljs needles to switch the outdated capes to what ever niche is left and we didn't bother to make before hand.

Not sure which but either defending ring or vocane ring +1 died today.

On asura. Got a bluemage NM on central 4 temenos. All debuffs easy to land except silence has a growing resistance. when not silenced drops aoe nukes for 1-2k. have him at 13% rn. tried saboteur stymie silence and it stayed on for like 20 seconds.

killed. last 13% was very slow. mostly by COR at range and RUN tanking. nothing of note happened after kill that I saw.

Was part of this. Parse had warrior at top, cor right behind it. Rune was essential. Silence was an absolute must for this thing.

Bold of you to assume I haven't made every niche cape already. Pretty sure capes are most of my inventory at this point.

I have this issue occasionally happen and I don't use HD texture packs. Its most often when zoning back into Kamihr from Sortie. sometimes I can warp out but I cant move when it happens. Usually any action crashes the client.

Log out and back in (or crash the client, since you won't be able to logout in that state), if it keeps doing it when you log back in and you didn't have issues before it could either be a hard drive issue (do a checkdisk) or a corrupt file (do a file check.

Another possible cause is you have an addon/plugin that is consistently writing it's config file to disk. So while it's writing/reading to disk so frequently, it interrupts the drawing of a frame and you get your black screen. (It doesn't have to be addon/disk, but something on your machine is causing increased I/O).

Edit: For example, if you install FFXI in your Downloads/Desktop/etc folders *and* you have OneDrive or Dropbox enabled, then every local write that your addons/plugins are doing will be sync'ed to the cloud. That could be the causing the frame delay and the intermittent black screens.

I imagine once the whole server shows up instead of 8-20 people we'll be able to kill it before it becomes functionally immune to silence.

On Asura. we killed a Ninja (Hachiya) on NW3 apollyon. We killed a Geo (bagua) on Temenos N3. We killed a Ninja (Mochizuki) on Eastern 1. The more people you throw at these the worse it gets from tp feed you definately need a tank. You definately need a RDM that can debuff it. Shadow tanking this seems to be the play though and debuff the hell out of it. minnes help anything that stacks your defense or debuffs his attack. Surviving is more important then damage.

Do you remember old school arcade games where the boss has a huge HP bar but his HP only goes down after you put in enough quarters?

...I bet SE is like: "well, if you don't have X number of people engaging this thing in an hour or a day ...then you just get the mega-***tier version. Haha...good luck!"

So to summarize the new Limbus NM's, they're basically just more dangerous versions of Su5 NMs that appear outside wave 3. Sounds like fun.... and dying if you aren't properly set up for it.

Are these guys just thrown randomly in between the other monsters on various floors?
Do they aggro, link or something? Do you get a special "status" while fightin em?

The fact they drop no floor objective points is fine, they fact they don't give not even a single Temenos/Apollyon points is quite... demoralizing I'd say.
I'm not even saying they should give a huge bunch of points but at least the amount you'd get from a Normal Apollyon/Temenos mob of the same level would be the least honestly.

If they're this annoying and you're supposed to kill them aplenty just for the chance of someone getting something potentially nice the following week, I'm not sure this is a very well thought gameplay element for the community of players.

The NM did not agro but other things around still did agro while fighting.

Honestly the patch makes it sound like an individual does not need to interact with the NM at all for the rewards. Sounds like the server kills enough NMs, then the chests for everyone get upgraded the following week.

This is exactly the way it's supposed to work and I'm perfectly fine with that, server effort vs individual effort. It's potentially nice and I think it suits well the gameplay approach of Limbus (no instancing etc).

I'm just concerned that if the only reward is a "chance" for someone to obtain something on the following week and they're this annoying to kill... well, it's likely not goin to be enough motivation to even bother.

They should AT LEAST drop the amount of currency you'd normally get from a normal mob in the same wing of the same level.
Getting absolutely zero nothing nada niet paired with the fact they're annoying to kill, isn't gonna work well with the motivation required to even bother to kill them.

The latter, it's clearly written in the patch notes and was mentioned in previous communications by SE as well.
Anybody can join at any time on them.

So the main takeaway points I'm getting here about the new Limbus Nm's

  • Open to anyone in zone regardless of party status

  • Personal rewards only on a kill.

  • Personal rewards not guaranteed on any single kill.

  • Personal rewards delayed until the following week after conquest tally.

  • Dying still murders your exemplar points.

  • Mobs are deadly and get more dangerous when you have more people hitting them.

Did I miss anything. Are any of these incorrect? Seems like this is the general summary so far

I think the NMs are probably fine. Untested by myself obviously but a geo throwing matt or att debuffs could be really good for the whole server. I guess what I'm saying is that you want your buffs and such to be defensive focused and you'll be fine. magus or gallants roll, wilt fade barrier fend attunement vex geos, minnes. IDK maybe the fights taking long with this will be a different kind of annoying.

All the RNG and COR mains will be happy to do something at range.

Do geo debuffs have nerfs on the normal mobs in limbus?

Oooh, Pinaka content! Sign me up!

(only half serious here. While I'm sure they're fine with the right setup, they sound annoying and bothersome for a mere chance at a personal reward).

Dont think its known how personal rewards work.

Patch notes to me read that the new accessories are gotten from a material you might get after completing a limbus climb if your server killed enough NMs the previous week. One does not need to actually kill any NMs for these materials.

Is your bulleted summary made by AI summarizing the thread? Bullets 2-4 each being their own bullet specifying more and more on the same topic reads like AI to me.

No, it's not AI. They're different points about personal rewards. I don't use AI. There's no reason to for something mundane like posting here on the forms. I could have condensed them I suppose, but they're all standouts to me about how the system appears to be implemented at first glance.

Seems like it might be easiest to farm a set of pages now, (killing NM's in between) but wait until conquest tally to pop the chest at the top.

You (and I, and many else) are paying the price for the laziness of the rest of the world. I know multiple people who no longer write their own messages at all, and are wearing down their ctrl, c, and v keys instead.

I was there too. BLU might be one of the more annoying ones i guess. Silence just wouldnt land for a while. After a time of standing there on DRG doing nothing, I had my COR alt leaden it down from range. Figured zero chance I'd pull hate and eventually it would die.

Found a WAR NM on Apolly later. It was unclaimed and I (my trio) was alone. I decided to try it anyway. Wanna say I got it to 55% before full break and some other stuff got my DRG killed. I camt back on WAR/BRD/WHM with WHM it seemed like I couldnt die. I eat omlette sandwich and stacked berserk and defender. throw some full breaks at it. Whatever I thought I could do to not die to it. Felt like idk... 6-8 other ppl there when we killed it.

Not sure why the NPC diaglogue says only 4 of the 22 can appear per earth day. Feels like we've already seen 5 unless the accounts were from other servers. Im aware of 3 on asura that died, was at 2.

I'm fairly positive it's kinda like the peaches fight with the meat.

Your chance to get a random personal reward by opening the chest varies depending on the number of NMs killed by the entire server the week before.

Kill 100 NMs on whole server one week, open chest after conquest tally -> chance at reward. More kills, higher chance. Once you have that reward you can't get it again, next week different reward. And so forth.
