As a community, I would like to revisit and collaborate on this objective, as it is both the only one still marked on the wiki as "needs verification" and the only objective that I randomly fail or succeed at outside of the description soloing.

The current description is:
"Vanquish 3 Biune foes within 30 (Verification Needed) seconds of gaining enmity."

When I solo, I usually use Ifrit to kill Umbrils. I have 20 second BPs and make sure to Flaming Crush as soon as the avatar engages. Numerous times, I have killed Umbrils in 2 BPs and not gotten the chest, while other times if I get bad damage rolls and it takes 3 BPs (and thus at least 40 seconds), I still get the objective. I am unclear if engaging with my trusts or using Dia helps or hinders objective clearing. I also wondered if it didn't rely on the actual clock and instead relied on 30 'second' in game time chunks: ie if you start killing it at 7:59 and kill it at 8:05, that it might not count. Or that the 30 second kills have to be in a chain with no failed kills in-between, but that wouldn't explain why failures sometimes count as successes...

I'm grasping at straws trying to find some sort of consistency here. Any ideas? Experiences?

Today I killed 3 umbrils, two in over 30 seconds, and got the chest. They all belonged to the same room. I am unsure if that matters.

I agree that the objective is wrong. Some other possibilities that come to mind would be time since entering the region and dealing at least X damage in one attack. Both would correlate to fast kills in an effective group, but be significantly different for soloers or small groups.

There's some discussion here about it.

I was suspicious that it might be something like 3 within X time (say 2 min.) but that does not appear to be the case, or if it is something can break it.

I'm suspicious that aggro and/or leaving the area (although lots of time people warp to B and do the /hurray, leave and still get it later) affects it, almost every time I've failed I've gotten aggro or had to kill and extra to get it. (maybe everytime?)

I don't think its do X damage in an attack. I do it on SCH and always hit 99999 on MB. (at least as a sole condition, it could be with other conditions I suppose)

My working theory would be something like kill 3 mobs (unsure if its time per kill or total) without any lingering enmity (so anything that aggros must be killed, even if you die or leave the region). Not sure if I've ever gotten the chest if I've died or had to zone after gainig hate, I don't think I have - could be Plouton-esque)

JP wiki with translate isn't much better:

Quote:
Kill three or more enemies in the area in a short amount of time. The method of killing does not matter. The appearance rate varies depending on the total time from when they are
detected until they are killed. There can be a gap between kills.
Even if you kill three enemies as quickly as possible, the appearance rate is not 100%. The longer the total time they are detected, the lower the appearance rate becomes. If
they do not appear after killing five enemies, it is recommended to use Device #B to respawn .

So that last line is something I have personally experienced very early on. If you take too long to do this objective, it might not pop a chest at all. I have a clear memory of killing at least 15 elementals (but the first ~5 took very long) and the box would not spawn. After the first 5, the group decided to just get B on the way later in the run. We were not able to get it to spawn after that point, almost as if it was glitched. We had not thought about respawning the zone, we just figure it was lost for good.
