Previously Unobtainable Items Coming Back

Rainbow Mog Pells are still available, but there's a number of items that are only one per character which sucks.

wonder what the motivation for this was. they could have just re-added the items and put them directly in people's inventories without the effort of creating new methods of acquisition.

Up until now all of those were very exclusive, time-limited rewards. They found a way to gate them behind some effort without having to reintroduce the old events, or to make up a new one, and the way they found gives the userbase a reason to re-do seasonal events that they completed a million years ago without having to change their rewards directly.

It's basically
do seasonal event -> get regular seasonal event reward
do seasonal event a bit harder -> get older, previously missable reward

It's not a bad system tbh.

The bad part is waiting to announce the necessary items with only 5 days left in an 18-day event.

weren't these all from the 15th anniv ROEs? I remember the knife having a ram NM that was removed.

Knife from a ram in La Theine, sword from a crab in Jugner. Ended march 2018 iirc.

So if I have none of the three, if I get Chicken Knife II + and Save the Queen II to get Stuffed Chocobo, can I get the Chicken Knife and Save the Queen again?

The entire Jingle Baaas event should return. Still need the club after using a rank 3 Bonanza win on the shirt.

* Sunbreeze Festival and The Green Festival are only running until Monday 18th August 7:59 AM (PDT)/2:59 PM (UTC)/3:59 PM (BST)/23:59 PM (JST). If you have not obtained the listed item by that time, you won't be able to get it again during this Curator Moogle event, so get cracking.
** You can buy this at any time from Meriri if you are Recruit rank or higher in Clothcraft, otherwise you're gonna need to pray the Guild Vendor has it in stock, or go farm it from Sylvestre in Buburimu Peninsula.
*** If you don't currently own these, you won't be able to obtain them until the Day of the Shadow Lord event starts, which is normally on August 30th, which will give you just over a week to go get what you need before the Curator Moogle goes away again.

You can indeed earn them as many times as you want, you'll just need more items and not have the item already.

They aren't always in stock, sadly, which is why I suggested an alternative (they are currently out of stock right now on Bahamut), the Stropers nearly always drop 1 and commonly drop 2.

Should give us rainbow mogpell so we can pick items we want instead. I still want a Nanaa mihgo statue and I am pissed I never got item code with my jigsaw puzzle. I want that chocobo picture that gives exp / cp bonus

Just finished getting Chicken Knife II and Save the Queen II, only to trade both in to get the Stuffed Chocobo and then re-obtain the weapons.

I don't mind the event grinds and random item farming, but I hope this doesn't start a pattern where you have to get items A & B to get item C. It's somewhat stressful because Sumemerfest is on its last 5 days and only now did the Curator Moogle appear. The seasonal events and Curator Moogle should align more.

The only way I'd find A+B=C more accepting is if it was like, get weapons, trade for Stuffed Chocobo, re-obtain weapons, trade CK2, STQ2, AND Stuffed Choco for Mog Pell (Rainbow). But then I'd just complain about re-obtaining the aforementioned 3 items because I never had them in the first place.

Day of the Shadow Lord started today so the Shadow Lord Statue and shirt are obtainable by those who didn't have the weapons already, which are personal drops from beating the Shadow Lord HTMB on any difficulty, but winning VD seems to make all three weapons a 100% drop.

1 Galkan Sausage - Get some Giant Sheep Meat from the Zulkheim Regional vendors which are Rosswald in Port Bastok (J-7), Phamelise in South. San d'Oria (K-9) and Bin Stejihna in Windurst Woods (G-8), depending on which nation currently controls Zulkheim. Alternatively just.. kill a sheep for it. Go flag the quest Smoke on the Mountain and follow the instructions on that page to get your hands on that delicious Galkan Sausage. As far as I'm aware, you only need the quest flagged or completed and you can make as many sausages as you want on the campfire in South Gustaberg, so keep that in mind.

You've got until Tue, 9 Sep 2025 at 07:59 AM PDT/10:59 AM EDT/3:59 PM BST/11:59 PM JST to get these, apparently they are running the Shadow Lord event at a later date again but there will be new items on the moogle for each of them so, best get cracking.

Hopefully Shadow Lord statue II and Shadow Lord statue III make there return on the following two times the event returns and we can make a beastman gonfalon

The items to weaken specifically the Dynamis - Buburimu Mega Boss, Apocalyptic Beast are also available from the Moogle (for some reason?) but I'm just going to list them without sources for historical reasons, as these items are readily available in the zone anyways. Very weird choice of items for distribution from this system imo.

Aw man, I just threw away my galkan sausage thinking they probably wouldn't bring back the shadow lord shirt.

Shame they're only doing shadow lord statue, and not either of the two variants which are also inaccessible without using other items that can't be obtained any more. (EDIT: Outside of Vana'bout apparently, I hadn't realized marble mog pells were one of the tryhard tier prizes.)

As an added bonus, the NPC "Curator Moogle" will be available to trade with you for reissued items based on Kamlanaut.

Yeah, SE has a very bizarre practice of hiding reward codes on the packaging. I mean, like the Blu-ray Priceless Remembrance, a very ordinary white ribbon around a DVD box? Will flip it around, because the code is on the interior on that ribbon!

I feel like a lot of people threw it away, haha
