I didn't say anything was wrong with this system. Before you said you were multiboxing, you stated how there was virtually no difference in clear time between 119 and 130. I was clarifying that perspective was definitely from a party of 6, or a multiboxer. The benefit of 130/135 as a solo player is it gives you increased exemplar points and units, but its a timesink, so its your choice to invest time for more of those points, or disregard that for sake of the box reward. I think the system is designed to properly reward both groups of players. You're making this response to me without considering why this conversation started in the first place.
well if the time to get those points increases, it can easily take longer to get those points from higher lvl mobs, so if this is their response to this way too poorly designed, grindy at best case 8 hour a week, avg person case 14hrs a week content, that's not really solving the issues. The points need to be doubled, without the speed to acquire them increasing. Then limbus won't be a trash heap. OP is complaining that the reward sucks, but OP is playing solo and not even using their best job because they want to double dip getting EP.

But we dont tell people where to find them, and namedropping them is the second best way of telling people where to find them short of direct linking them.

Probably hard to tell in all the responses, but my response to you was completely independent of Luces; I was merely responding to the 119 vs 130 time difference. In fact, I didn't even read his response, I was only responding to your comment on that point. That was all.

when its clearly a huge percentage of players "normal" gameplay experience I wouldn't give to much about those numbers, I mean how meaningful are they really?
Not everyone who uses windower joins the discord and vice versa you can look around FFXIAH and the sheer amount of sock accounts some people use (which is probably more representative of the maril faction) to stalk/***post, who says they don't do the same on the discord?

With 7 you kill 1-2 more mobs. Won't hurt you.

Sooo, is this the final update to limbus? Is this what we'll be grinding for the next 3 years?
Do we finally have all the necessary information to make a educated bonanza weapon pick?

I can use my friends accounts to confirm if no one else does before me, but i think it was as simple as ceiling((kills required/6)*[ally size])
So temenos NEW with 4 kills per floor should become 5 in a pt of 7, 6 in a pt of 8-9, etc. it might not be 100% accurate because theres some scoring system on the back end.
Temenos NEW = 7 floors, 4 mobs per clear = 28
Temenos C = 4 floors, 7 mobs per clear = 28
Apollyon Sx = 4 floors, 7 mobs per kill = 28
Apollyon Nx = 5 floors, 6 mobs per kill = 30
Screencap your bars after every kill and youll note they dont fill at a fixed percentage.
Temenos NEW:
6 ppl = 4 kills
7 ppl = 5 kills
8 ppl = 5 kills
9 ppl = 5 kills
10 ppl = 6 kills
I dont want to log any more of my friends chars in, I think we have enough. These numbers are likely the exact same for Apy Sx.
See the bolded part in the quote why these numbers dont match what I theorized in my post.
If there was a way to put a number on this bar

It would be easier to *** the value of each kill on each floor. I'm presuming this is related to 0x075, based on the notes in fields.lua
Quote: -- Unity Start
-- Only observed being used for Unity fights. Also observed on DynaD, Odyssey for mask//weapon/neck/izzat progression bars, Escutcheons progression and mandragora minigame.
func.incoming[0x075] = {}
fields.incoming[0x075] = function()
local fields = func.incoming[0x075]
return function(data, type)
return fields.base + (fields[type] or (data:byte(0x025) > 1 and fields.bars) or fields.default)
end
end()
I wanna know if I can group up with another six man party bots or not and have a reasonably good time without making it significantly more grindy 10 chars = 2 extra kills. Doesnt seem that much more grindy at all.
Just make sure everyone sets the same CL.

My best job for soling 130/135 would be bard cause aoe sleep. on 119 I can just run through and not care about sleep. I'm also commenting on your saying 119 and 130 take the same amount of time. As I was comparing solo runs your comparing party runs which are 2 vastly different things but your original comment which I responded to. Even comparing a multiboxer to a 6 person party is vastly different. even a full party of well geared, their is still a 15min + difference in a run. I wouldn't call that the same amount of time, though the points are worth the time. 130 still being notably longer for a climb. I have done it on my best job solo that can at least handle links and stuff, it still is slower points/time. When it comes to 6 random people. As everyone loads up and runs at different speeds. Not everyone has 18% or even uses movement speed at all in there. One of my friends takes about 20 seconds longer to just zone up a floor. But i'm not climbing in a full group. As stated climbing in a full group of 6 real people not multiboxers, takes much more time, work, and babysitting, than multiboxing. Though that is made much easier if everyone wants to be in voice. If u have a full party of 6 it's vastly faster to just farm out the rp than it is to do a climb anyway, so why climb?
If the weekly cap is 50k, and they gave u different methods of getting there. Each method should get u 50k, even doing a 135 climb and all 5 chest doesn't give u 50k.So were comparing climb speeds of different ilvls and their rewards cause they are comparable in that format. i'm old. I have ***to do, having multiple content that requires 5+hrs worth of griding is bad design, esp when the last huge player loss happened because of sortie's time investment. Which means they aren't not learning from the past about what caused you to loose money, which leads to the game not being able to make more content, or being shut down. As someone who helps a lot of people, even if I was ok with 10+hr a week grind, I have enough awareness of others to know the avg person can't do 10 hrs a week(for the avg person though 50k is more like 14hr + a week)+ segs + sortie +_ambu. considering that when I was in college it was rare to have job(when this game was young/newish) and now days u have to have a job to be in college, there is a huge difference in time available to players. Ignoring that people don't have that kinda time in life, don't work from home, ect does no one good, and it shows u don't see the own privilege's u to be able to do something like that call and call it good.

This content will be around for the next 2-3 years. You'll be ok if you can only invest ~2 hours/week into this and make only a few pieces of gear per month. The game has always been about whoever can invest the more time gets more out of it. Why is this event bad design because it follows that exact same model? Just play at your own pace.

We just did a full Apollyon climb and not a single NM was found. It seems there are only ever four per earth day per zone, so Asura probably stomped them already. Was kinda hoping to get a chance to fight them.

Fought the RDM today on Bahamut.
First with LSmates. Had a party of SAM, WAR, GEO, BRD, WHM. Then me on my own with Trusts. Another LSmate showed up with RDM and BRD.
Fought it in Temenos East, Floor 6. THe one with all the pixies.
Major pain to pull without any agro. Best method ranged attack.
Real easy to land all breaks/add effects from Gaxe/demon arrows.
Requiescat from NM seemed to ignore all DT, dealing upwards of 3700+ to anyone, but as low as 2500 sometimes (missed hits perhaps).
The first 50% wasn't so bad. It'd chainspell every couple of minutes, spam Sleepga II, Paralyga, Breakga, Silencega, and Graviga. Favoring Sleepga II.
Every Breakga after that was a mini-heart attack, and once we had it to under 30% it just started to WS back to back to back. People got tired of dyiing, so left it.
Me, SAM, WHM, and BRD soldiered on a bit more. Came back on PLD to try and tank it a bit better than my WAR. We got it to 16% and I had to go Sortie.
Came back after Sortie, and it was untouched. Buds weren't on, so I came back on RDM intent on giving it a slow death of Bio III/Poison/Helix and whatever other damage I could give it. So each salvo was basically me pulling with Ullr. Getting nearly killed by a WS (down to 500 or less HP from Requiescat, down to 1800ish from anything else), having it demolish my trust tank, throwing DOTs on it, and maybe getting 1 or 2 Savage Blades off before dying. (My RDM isn't mastered so, generally about 5k SBs) Bio III duration was halved as far as I could tell, but ticking.
Another LSmate showed up on his SMN, and a random SCH with Stage 5 Opashoro also showed up. At this point I'd widdled it down to about 12%.
Few more pulls about the same. SCH was able to bind it, and I assume Helix it with fairly potent Helix (not sure on that tbh).
An ML50 RDM showed up. Buncha Stage 5 prime people showed up too. Oddly they(the stage 5s) merely pulled all of the pixies to hold/fight while letting us contend with the NM.
A few more pulls like before, and the RDM's HP was down to that last sliver. ML50 RDM kept getting completely mogged, so I didn't feel too bad. I gave'em an R2 cause no RR, and they said, "My hero!" hehe. They put a Stymie Paralyze II on it, and that made the last few percents a lot less painful.
Had another round of we all die, get back up, wait weakness off, gun it with DOTs. We all die, cept the SCH binds and runs out to where the pixies would normally be. I see Bio wear off, so I decide to get back up, pop a reraiser, reapply Bio III, Poison II, and a Hellix of my own (I didn't know SCH was a SCH cause of filters). SCH gets got. RDM comes back, kills ML50 RDM again, kills SMN LS mate, kills me(after I popped off some sub 1000 nukes as a hail mary).

Got kinda annoying under 50% for a bit where it would AoE WS (Earth Crusher/Cataclysm/etc) and then Astral Flow back-to-back-to-back. Sooo, is this the final update to limbus? No
I didn't see a thread dedicated to new-new Limbus so here's one with some findings. I’ve continued to edit this post with new discoveries made throughout the thread.
For entrance and zone info, really the SE post is best:
https://forum.square-enix.com/ffxi/threads/62862-June-10-2025-%28JST%29-Version-Update?p=667175&viewfull=1#post667175
Obtaining the Key Items / Units
Kill mobs to fill the bar in the upper left. Seems to take 6-15+ mobs per floor, this increases based on the chosen mob level and number of people in your party. You continue to get units as long as you want to sit there and keep killing and refill the bar, but at half the rate. Whether this is comparable to the units gained by continuing to move floors and finishing the event to get the chest bonus is up a function of your personal kill speed and group size.
Each Temporary KI looks like "Apollyon SE #1 data", and you get 1 per floor. You keep them until you open a chest and then they are all lost. You get a KI for filling up the bar at the top of the screen on each floor. I didn't count but I think it requires like 10 mobs per floor (this apparently varies by level choice). Once you get a KI, you should get to keep it even if you leave Limbus. You would lose any progress on any un-completed floors, but this is like 6-10 kills so no biggie.
You can enter any section / floor at any time. You don't need to go in any type of order or "climb" if you're missing one of the upper KIs from a run that got interrupted.
Once you choose a level (119-130), I think you need to keep that level choice until you open a chest. If you adjust it after getting some KIs, you might lose them. The NPC dialogue isn't too clear on this.
There were no direct drops from mobs, of any kind.
Mob Details
All the mobs seem to have pretty serious DT, probably 50% (confirm by Brixy as 50%, per Air Knife expected enspell dmg). But they aren't hard. They hit like 130s. AoE/Cleaving is extremely nerfed.
Pulling mobs is weird. Any initial spell cast before initial aggro / dynamic level adjustment may land, but will not remain on the mob. You will not see a message to reflect this.
If you pull with silence (while it's un-aggroed), it appears the silence instantly wears without any message, likely due to the dynamic-level adjustment which happens as soon as you aggro (credit to Moonlightagb for this theory, I think it's correct). Silencing twice is probably needed. This doesn't matter much in a party, but if you're solo and mob density is high this effect could be pretty annoying. Other examples later verified by others: If you pull with Immanence, the skill chain will not complete. If you pull with Dia, you can sleep right after.
Mob respawn is on the order of a few minutes but I was pretty lonely this morning. I had one floor with a couple groups and it felt faster, might be dynamic spawn rate.
Aside from the initial-aggro weirdness, everything can be debuffed and slept as expected. Sneak/invis work fine, but true aggro mobs remain like Imps and such.
Getting the goods
In order for the chest to open, you need to finish all of the zone, not just one section. So Apollyon zone is 18 KIs, Temenos zone should be 25 KIs. If the chest says "it won't open", you need more KIs. The chests are located at the exit of each "top floor" in each section. However, you can only open a chest once you have finished all the sections (NW,NE,SW,SE,etc).
After getting all KIs in Apollyon, each character had earned:
About 4000 units from killing mobs and climbing floors
3000 units from finding a shiny ??? on the ground and clicking it
3000 units (one character in the party got 5000 units, no idea why) directly from the chest
So each character of a 6-person party left a ~90 minute run with 10-12k units. EP was ~15k/hr, but this is ML50s fighting level 130s. Maybe it's better if you're lower.
My initial limit on Apollyon units was 30,000. After I opened the chest, that increased to 33,000. It looks to increase 3000 more with each chest open.
Apollyon Units are used to upgrade AF pieces to +4.
Temenos Units are used to upgrade relic pieces to +4.
The upgrade costs are:
Head: 20k units
Body: 30k units
Hands: 15k units
Legs: 25k units
Feet: 10k units
Once I got to 10k units, the furnace did allow me to trade a foot piece, though I didn't choose to complete the process. Trading any other slot did nothing.
I did get the title Apollyon Razer, which I think is just the same as the old title lol
