50%DT is interesting. It lets some WSs with high spike potency to shine and "go past" 99999. Ya i broke out trueflight with malaise still doing up to 80k lol

What ilvl did you do and how many points per mob?
i119 = 10
Solo @ 119 = 60 points for KI
Solo @130 = 170 points for KI
Edit: this was in Temenos - I can't say 100% it's same for both zones.
Repeating a floor(filling the bar again after getting the Temp Item) seems to reward 50% units. We got 170 the first bar, 85 the second. Did not think to try a 3rd while we were inside, or go back in to see if it resets after opening a chest.

Messed around for a while. Between the 50% DT, three trust limit, and fast respawns this seems like a really slick addition for casual pick-up XP for any randos on any job, the sort of thing people have been lamenting the loss of for like 15 years. You COULD bot it but that would mean missing out on KIs between floors. It's good!

How do I open the chest in Temenos N?
I have Tem. N-F1 through 7, but the box still wont open.
Quote: Temenos
Go from Al'Taieu (H-4) to the north and enter Temenos.
Speak to the Temenos Operator on the floor of your destination (entrance) and set the level from between 119 and 130.
Defeat the monsters within Temenos to collect the data for the floor, and once you've accumulated the maximum amount of data, obtain the temporary item.
Acquire the temporary item from all of the floors and open the treasure chest at the end of the sector.

Since the repop is fast I have filled few bars on same floor and keep getting 50% points out of them... Dont know if there is a limit or you can just do that until you cap the 30k or even the 50k points mark.
Also, does anyone know if there is a time limit? I dont see any clock and have not received any warning message so far...

You’ll need to open chests to get the upgrade KIs but it looks like they are not lost on use to upgrade a piece. You also get a chunk of units for opening the chest or finding ??? marks on various floors.

So does this limbus stuff work on upgrading +0-+2? Or is it just going from +3 to +4?

Went back for some more Tenemos testing, all solo with 3 trusts this time.
Points per floor start at 60 for i119 and increase by 10 for every additional ilvl, up to 170 at i130.
Floor progress (the bar) is preserved between areas unless you leave the zone entirely or return to the entrance and increase your set level. Lowering your set level does not reset floor progress.
Once you obtain the temp item(and unit reward) for clearing a floor, you can continue to kill stuff, but all subsequent bar fills on that floor will result in -50% unit rewards(30-85 depending on ilvl) rather than the full amount.
Rezoning and/or changing your set level does not remove any acquired temp items. They are even added back into your temp inventory on re-zoning if you throw them away. Opening a chest seems to be the only way to get rid of them and earn full points again.

I'm not sure if this is what they are running into, but there's weird hate mechanics that occur when you aggro a mob. Before you have aggro, if you try to act on a mob, whatever action you are TRYING to do will fail, and it will THEN aggro you. This is due to their weird "The mob's level changes as soon as you aggro" mechanic, which causes this stutter between when you aggro it and when you can act on it.

Do you mean rezoning inside, IE going back to the "lobby", or do you mean actually leaving Limbus all together and coming back? Because my impression was once you started getting the temp items, if you leave, they vanish.

Anyone figure out why some people are getting 5k opening the chest and others are getting 3k?
ALSO, I've only seen the shiny ??? that rewards 3k for touching it in an Apollyon zone. Has anyone seen it in Temenos? is it random spawn/location?

I did a loop of Temenos at 125, picked up another C-F4 before exiting, changed level to 130, and I still have the C-F4.
The only progress thats lost is per-floor progress, and thats only if you change level. They didnt want people doing a floor at 119, leaving, changing level to 130, and getting points for doing the whole set at lvl 119. The units you get per floor is affected by mob level. The ending crate units is not (it seems).

First go around I had 2 chars get 5k (whm and cor)
second go around I had one char get 5k (cor again luckily enough for them)
Also got Delineated grace
Also I may have miscounted, but Temenos N E W is 7 kills per cycle, Central is 14, and dead people dont get credit to their bar.

I mean leaving/re-entering the actual Temenos zone. Warping, death/HP, or walking out of the zone in the lobby area. And again, you keep the temp items for floors you have cleared no matter what. All that resets is the floor data bar.
You can move between different floors/areas inside Temenos without affecting anything, each floor's data is tracked separately and persists until you increase the enemy level or leave Temenos entirely. We had somebody die and miss a kill on C4 last night but not realize it until we finished all the towers. We hopped back over to the lobby, straight back to C4, and their bar was 1 kill away from finished.

I'm guessing quantity needed to fill the bar scales with party size. This seems like it would be very efficient to do with a full alliance.

I finished Apollyon with a party of 6. In order for the chest to open, you need to finish all of the zone, not just one section. So Apollyon is 18 KIs, Temenos should be 25 KIs. If the chest says "it won't open", you need more KIs.
Curious what the time commitment was, how long did it take your party to do this? Maybe 90 minutes, but we're not in ranked oddy and i wasn't pulling trains. It's still 18 floors for Apollyon and 25 for Temenos. So I can't see it being much less than an hour. (edit: I'm aware this will age well when people are clearing this in 15 mins in a month)
Idk if we just did it subpar, but was about 45min - 1hr per Section clear in Tem.
Maybe Apo takes less time due to less floors. Tem is also a bit of a maze and is easy to get lost.

Did it nearly full alliance. Mob HP doesn’t scale with player count (yay). BUT you need something like 25 kills with 16 players to get floor clear. So that sucks.
They need to adjust it because as it stands you’re far more efficient, and get more exemplar points, with just 6 players.

Has anyone tested if dividing the alliance by sending different parties to different floors would give KI to everyone even if not on the same floor?
Note: I havent seen anyone mention that elemental pets take 0 dmg from Physical... Must be due to the dmg reduction. Not that it matters but its good to know.

I can get over the gear being mediocre, but the content is pretty stupid. Absolute disrespect of anyone's time. Each mob should be giving 170 and the chest should be the mechanism for raising the cap, like I will never understand why the FFXI devs think that people want to be playing this game like a job. This place just becomes a bot / merc farm in the next 2~3 weeks.

Have this weird thing going on with Immanence skillchains on Scholar. Trying this at i119 in Apollyon NW. I can solo Dhartok in Sortie on SCH, so I know my macros are perfectly fine.
If I skillchain an enemy right away, it won't work. The skillchain does not register. However, if I claim a mob with another spell, and then begin the skillchain a few seconds later, it will register. It's like the mob takes a few seconds to decide what level it is, and attempting to skillchain immediately won't work. Anyone else experiencing this?

It probably resets their chain ready once it assigns their level, similar to silence.

Sorry, what do you mean?
I didn't see a thread dedicated to new-new Limbus so here's one with some findings. I’ve continued to edit this post with new discoveries made throughout the thread.
For entrance and zone info, really the SE post is best:
https://forum.square-enix.com/ffxi/threads/62862-June-10-2025-%28JST%29-Version-Update?p=667175&viewfull=1#post667175
Obtaining the Key Items / Units
Kill mobs to fill the bar in the upper left. Seems to take 6-15+ mobs per floor, this increases based on the chosen mob level and number of people in your party. You continue to get units as long as you want to sit there and keep killing and refill the bar, but at half the rate. Whether this is comparable to the units gained by continuing to move floors and finishing the event to get the chest bonus is up a function of your personal kill speed and group size.
Each Temporary KI looks like "Apollyon SE #1 data", and you get 1 per floor. You keep them until you open a chest and then they are all lost. You get a KI for filling up the bar at the top of the screen on each floor. I didn't count but I think it requires like 10 mobs per floor (this apparently varies by level choice). Once you get a KI, you should get to keep it even if you leave Limbus. You would lose any progress on any un-completed floors, but this is like 6-10 kills so no biggie.
You can enter any section / floor at any time. You don't need to go in any type of order or "climb" if you're missing one of the upper KIs from a run that got interrupted.
Once you choose a level (119-130), I think you need to keep that level choice until you open a chest. If you adjust it after getting some KIs, you might lose them. The NPC dialogue isn't too clear on this.
There were no direct drops from mobs, of any kind.
Mob Details
All the mobs seem to have pretty serious DT, probably 50% (confirm by Brixy as 50%, per Air Knife expected enspell dmg). But they aren't hard. They hit like 130s. AoE/Cleaving is extremely nerfed.
Pulling mobs is weird. Any initial spell cast before initial aggro / dynamic level adjustment may land, but will not remain on the mob. You will not see a message to reflect this.
If you pull with silence (while it's un-aggroed), it appears the silence instantly wears without any message, likely due to the dynamic-level adjustment which happens as soon as you aggro (credit to Moonlightagb for this theory, I think it's correct). Silencing twice is probably needed. This doesn't matter much in a party, but if you're solo and mob density is high this effect could be pretty annoying. Other examples later verified by others: If you pull with Immanence, the skill chain will not complete. If you pull with Dia, you can sleep right after.
Mob respawn is on the order of a few minutes but I was pretty lonely this morning. I had one floor with a couple groups and it felt faster, might be dynamic spawn rate.
Aside from the initial-aggro weirdness, everything can be debuffed and slept as expected. Sneak/invis work fine, but true aggro mobs remain like Imps and such.
Getting the goods
In order for the chest to open, you need to finish all of the zone, not just one section. So Apollyon zone is 18 KIs, Temenos zone should be 25 KIs. If the chest says "it won't open", you need more KIs. The chests are located at the exit of each "top floor" in each section. However, you can only open a chest once you have finished all the sections (NW,NE,SW,SE,etc).
After getting all KIs in Apollyon, each character had earned:
About 4000 units from killing mobs and climbing floors
3000 units from finding a shiny ??? on the ground and clicking it
3000 units (one character in the party got 5000 units, no idea why) directly from the chest
So each character of a 6-person party left a ~90 minute run with 10-12k units. EP was ~15k/hr, but this is ML50s fighting level 130s. Maybe it's better if you're lower.
My initial limit on Apollyon units was 30,000. After I opened the chest, that increased to 33,000. It looks to increase 3000 more with each chest open.
Apollyon Units are used to upgrade AF pieces to +4.
Temenos Units are used to upgrade relic pieces to +4.
The upgrade costs are:
Head: 20k units
Body: 30k units
Hands: 15k units
Legs: 25k units
Feet: 10k units
Once I got to 10k units, the furnace did allow me to trade a foot piece, though I didn't choose to complete the process. Trading any other slot did nothing.
I did get the title Apollyon Razer, which I think is just the same as the old title lol
