Can I get some short summaries of what goes on in those solo videos? Nothing too long but just e.g. 'WAR is geared with X and Y and just activates Z and spams N', etc.

Super interested in knowing what goes on in these but just don't know japanese to tell what actions they're using. I could make out a little bit of what's going on from the comments on this thread, but yeah would really appreciate it thanks!

What are you hoping to accomplish? ACE and chests?

I'm a noob and have never done it, just wondering what the capabilities are for a WAR with trusts and it definitely needs Monb and/or Ygnas to do.

The WAR doesn't show his equipment in the video so it's hard to tell what he wears but he's using empy great axe and ukkon's fury for the most part of the fight, judging by the insane damage he pushes he's probably wearing BiS Ukko's fury equipment from the WAR guide. He's probably also ML 30-50.
He uses his great axe break WSs for def reduction, summoned qualtada for buffs before he entered dhartok boss arena and straves at max distance around dhartok in a attempt to stack miasma clouds on the side to avoid losing much time repositioning. Despite the fast clear time I didn't catch him using mighty strikes vs dhartok but I might have missed it.

No specific goal at the moment, was just purely curious about the strats used in the videos. I find it very cool to know that a WAR can zerg through it in 5m against what I thought was a heavily magic-oriented boss, and how the other jobs fare, etc.

I won't try to shadow them since I mostly play RDM and probably won't gear up those jobs, though since you asked; at the moment I get around 7-8k muffins doing A, top-floor NMs and objectives and basement 2 blitzers but I do plan on attempting E once. Haven't tried C at all yet but maybe I should.

SCH can solo ABCD E easier than a WAR can do E IMO.

RDM too probably.

I recommend to attempt E dhartok eventually, not just because of more points but because his star stone drop rate seems to be quite a bit higher than just farming basement chests. If you don't do it star stones eventually become the bottleneck of your empy armor upgrades.
I don't know how usefull RDM empy gear is for a dhartok solo but for BLU I'd say once you've upgraded empy armor to +2 it's time to switch focus on dhartok with magic approach.

Most jobs that can beat the top floor can beat E
The rest of the basement not so much

The most important thing for E is an effective means of poisona and the protective item from the mini boss which is a challenge to do solo without the right trust setup for both

Mini boss is damage from behind for the chest

Also remember no water on a & e
No reverb, distortion, darkness

I found out it's technically possible to solo Aita (H) on SCH too. Granted it's like a 10-15 minute fight with helix and not worth adding to a solo run outside of bragging rights. But It's possible.
I gave it a couple of attempts and took it to 43% before I messed up and healed him then died to the 3rd Vivisection. The idea is to spam his weak element nukes enough to drop his wings and if you do it you will survive Vivisection (That's how I survived the first 2 prior). While doing that a helix is ticking him down. Not a difficult fight, just tedious. Not really worth doing.

I also hear a JP Samurai is working on soloing Gartell. So far he has soloed ABCD EG and is working on F. Granted not all in the same run, but you get the point. If you're curious and wanna dig into his work his Twitter/X account is @Higeburo_ff11

He also provides valuable info and testing to certain things that are often missed within the ffxi playerbase.

I used to do ACE on Sam a long time agooo with my pocket whm which practically took me the whole run lol, haven't really tried again since I started 4 boxing. I think i might give it a try on War just for funsies with trusts. What's a good nuking trust for magic kill, I never use them.

I tried solo Dhartok with RDM using Monberaux, Ulmia and Joachim, and it can be done in aprox. 13min with some practice, and probably in aprox. 12 min with enough optimization, so the kill time is very similar to BLU and SCH.

Maybe similar to SCH, BLU takes quite a bit longer in my experience. I think I'm usually somewhere between 20-25 minutes and iirc somewhere between 17-18 on my personal best on BLU with magic method with lucky empy set procs.

Maybe you could lower that RDM clear time quite significantly cause you seem to lose a lot of time repositioning due to miasmas, did you watch the WAR solo and how he avoids most of it by standing at max distance and strafing?
Imho melee is tedious cause of that but it's apparently a lot faster on jobs that can reach ACC requirement and still deal decent damage, which BLU seems to struggle with.
For people who use ja0 it's of course much easier.

If they didn't fix that bug where mobs would gain super speed if they receive too much negative movement speed I suppose it would also be easier to reposition dhartok.

Other suggestions for improvement:
- as mentioned strafing.
- Unless I'm missing the reason to throw random savage blades/CDCs stick to red lotus and seraph, they seem to deal much more damage and infinite chain.
- I'm not sure if RDM needs brygid for magic defense, I also use her on BLU but could probably drop her, not sure. But does RDM need moogle trust refresh? I always had the impression RDM is the most MP sufficient job in the game. I suggest dropping it for star sybil.
- If you want to break the tedium of alternating red lotus blade/seraph blade I'd suggest to try and throw in a Fire MB of the liquifaction if you haven't already just to see what numbers it would produce.

Thank you for the suggestions, you are right, I read what a person posted in BGwiki Discussion Page to avoid WS wall completely with 6 different WS: chant du chygne > red lotus blade > shining blade > sanguine blade > seraph blade > burning blade, and I just remplace sanguine blade for savage blade because it does more damage.

But now that I see your suggestion and re-checked WS wall definition, it makes more sense to do only red lotus blade > seraph blade assuming a -25% DMG due to WS wall but doing only potent WS and additional SC damage. I will also check if MB DMG is worth or not, and will try to mimic those WAR movements to not loose too much time between miasmna clouds.

I don't think any of the special trust as Brygid or Moogle are really needed, just good to have, better than nothing; I will probably try with the same trust setup as the WAR and see how it goes now that I am able to hold hate better.

I don't know how much sense Sylvie (UC) would make, according to wiki
She'll most likely use macc and refresh buffs, you didn't seem to have macc issues and MP sustain on RDM usually isn't a big issue either. Maybe you could get her to use her MATT buff by engaging a enemy right outside the boss room so you could benefit the first few minutes of the fight from it but afterwards she's pretty much just a backup cure and poison remover.

WAR is using koru moru primarily for Dia III and Haste II, maybe refresh for trusts which you can all provide yourself on RDM, he can't poisona either so it would be a wasted slot outside of backup curing.

Star Sybil provides a constant 19 macc/matt without needing attention for poison removal or getting cured. Majority of your damage looks to be magic so she should be a solid pick.

When Cornelia becomes available again you could consider switching her out for Ulmia (she doesn't -na while joachim does) and maybe switch Joachim for Ygnas. Ygnas would be backup cure while staying out of range, poisona and he occasionally does
Although I don't know if the enlight would overwrite/can be reoverwritten by your enstone.

Ygnas will overwrite your haste ii with his low duration version and his enlight will overwrite your enspell and you can't overwrite it with an enspell 1. You'll have to click it off manually first and then reapply.

Ohhh thank you Spicychai for following! :)

I’m learning slowly but steadily ^^, this forum is great to learn because there is not much content in YT and the "Discussion page" in BGwiki seems a little outdated.

Red Lotus Blade > Seraph Blade > Burning Blade > Shining Blade having -10% damage penalty is definitely a lot better than alternating 6 different WS to avoid WS wall completely, so now my kill time is 10 min, and I still haven't tried to move around miasma clouds to keep melee uptime.

Next time I will try using only Red Lotus Blade > Seraph Blade having -25% damage penalty, probably it is worth it.

∼10 min

Nice run, it's nuts how much more effective some jobs are over others.

Why did you Poison II at 9:30 and why did dhartok not immediately retaliated with overkill damage?

its water based dmg that causes a rage, poison casts dont apply any water dmg on cast, its just a generic dot now if it was something like drown which is water based dmg + dot that could in theory cause a rage though i dont think such tiny amounts would do it alone.

Not sure any Dots do element-type damage actually, maybe helixes? but like i dont think i recall something that absorbs light being healed by dia beyond the initial on-hit dmg

I fat-fingered Posion macro instead of WS macro ^^, my bad!

It does not make sense to use Poison because Dhartok seems to have resistance to Poison, and if you insist, Poison will eventually land, but the damage will be very low.

Yeah, RDM is a beast.
