refining magic from items is one thing, but drawing 300 of something gets old, is all. that sound effect doesn't help lol. I'll grab the remake/remaster for ps5 and give it a shot though, see how far I get.

Checking every mob and every boss then drawing 140 times is seriously a drag

Oh I cast fire once... better draw one back!

(it is categorically unfun if you have even the mildest ocd, or pretend to)

Still one of my favorite memes:

IMO you're better off with the original and do the mods for it on the PC.

The draw sound effect is great, what you talkin' bout.

But yeah, you're better off refining spells.

There's also this, for those that just don't care anymore:

https://github.com/myst6re/hyne/releases

save game editor (to be fair I usually only use this to a. move the card queen/adjust card rules (I've done it legit twice and have too little free time and patience to do it again while I can otherwise still enjoy the game) and to lower my level back down if I'm grinding a bit too much (like I like to kill the 100+ enemies on the Dollet mission, and even doing it with just Seifer is annoying).

But you can adjust your stocked spells and items etc. Which is also nice if you don't want to bother with chocobo world. I have a pocket station and can convert my saves around and transfer enough to get it on a psx memory card in order to use it and then back but it's honestly a PITA especially with the encryption with the saves on the newer systems. Can't recommend for most people. I think my rs232 dexdrive finally ***the bed too.

The most satisfying ff moment in my life was beating omega weapon in ff5 for the first time, using a strategy I devised entirely by myself.

Second to that it's probably beating the optional boss in FF1. I loved FF6 the first time I played it and beat all the optional content without over levelling and gearing.

One of the very first things I did online was play a fan made triple triad. Eventually they added a bunch of cards from other games and weird rules that kinda ruined it, but playing other people was pretty amazing back in 2000.

As much as I love FFXI, I just can't support FFXI-content in FFX14. SE treats their own IP (and us, the customers) so poorly.

Zero gameplay footage, tons of dancing, lots of fancy glamours.

SE knows their FF14 audience.

Better to have FFXIV take the L that FFXI. Once mobile games die, they don't come back...because they were always disposable to begin with. They are meant for the trash. Not real games.

I don't need FFXI going into a metrics meeting and based on the performance of their mobile game, it's time to invest even less resources into the game.

It's not an SE game, it's a Tencent game. Tencent's studio pitched FF14 mobile to SE and paid for the license. Every article said this game is "licensed" by SE. Which means it's probably closer to those Falcom IP mobile games that the IP owner only licensed it.

This is a different situation from FFXI mobile that SE worked with Nexon for it. I don't think they are related.

My hands went numb just watching the trailer.

Joking aside, I never really understood the intent behind either of those games going to mobile. It seems like they wouldn't connect with OG players due to what is likely to be massively simplified gameplay and it doesn't seem like the gameplay/commitment involved would bring in newer, younger audiences either.

The target audience is Chinese f2p mobile players, obviously. This market is huge enough for Tencent to make a game for it. It's going to release in Chinese market first before international too.

Anything outside of the numbered Final Fantasy games seems to be made with the quantity over quality mindset. Nintendo is doing the same thing with Legend of Zelda.

If that nonsense will help continue to pay for the big numbered games, then I'm all for it.

I am more impressed at the fact that SE is willing to license their precious FF IP to Tencent for a mobile game. They used to cherish their IP very much and wouldn't let outsiders touch it and ruin their IP value one bit.

Falcom really likes to do mobile games licensing but SE doing that with their precious FF? Hmmm...

I guess they changed.

not my wallet your not lol - Most people are ok with giving their money away but I find it more beneficial to just torrent their games now and give the money to uber eats.

money and fools are soon parted and I think SE and Nintendo realize this and continue to hammer down even when sales are dwindling - Glad some people are waking up but lol at the ones who arent.

If a game is bad why bother to waste time playing it at all? My time is more valuable than my money. If there is a game that I don't like I wouldn't even bother to pirate it. it's a waste of my time, which has greater value than my money.

Sounds like some people still likes those games enough to give it their valuable time, they just need an excuse to not pay.

Based on the logic above, If people can eat Uber eats for free Im pretty sure they'll do it, while ranting about how bad they taste so they don't deserve the money.

All I was sayin is paying $45 for your $25 meal due to various fees and tip is pretty foolish.

You coulda used almost anything else, but you went with heavily marked up food delivery. Drugs, strippers, booze, new socks, ANYTHING?!?!?

You say that, but I am nearly done with Final Fantasy 16 and I have enjoyed every moment of that game. I finished the last DLC yesterday and I'm on to (what I think is) the final story missions.

I know a lot of people complain about the battle system, but I enjoy it. I just wish they had scaled the moves up slower. You're pretty damn powerful very early in the game and it just gets worse.

If they added more tiers to the moves and added an option to use a menu system instead of button combos, it would be nearly perfect modern 3D version of traditional Final Fantasy battles.
