Partial Recovery Of DATs From FFXIDATs

Hi everyone,

Although I have just returned only a few months ago, I used to play almost 15 years ago now when I was kid.

During that time I learned about dat swapping from friends who would share images of their characters with equipment that looked far better then what the game had at the time. From there I discovered FFXIDATs, like most of you lol. The day that we found out that the site would be closing I felt I had to download as much as I could before it all came crashing down. And so I did with the intention of sharing what I'd saved with the community.

UNFORTUNATELY, the laptop I used to download them had gone missing a short time after, and the flash drive I used to back up the dats had been damaged beyond function. So the dats I had meant to preserve and share on FFXIAH with everyone would remain lost, for a time. It wasn't until literally today that we had found the laptop with the dat files. Excited, I finally begun the process of being able to share what I had meant to share near a decade and half a go. As a disclaimer, some of them have the original authors notes, and but some don't... but I obviously take no credit for making any of these.

Why I'm doing this? It's part of XI's history, and it's something I want(and intended) to share with the community for many years now. These creators have come and gone from XI, but they should be remembered for the content they made.

I have stored these dats on my Google Drive. You can pick individually the ones you want. Unfortunately some of them dont have images, or the model viewer I have wasnt playing nice.

Of course all my images are broken - slowly fixing hang on lol

I have so many on a file on my computer. I really loved these as a kid but then grew out of it and preferred the authentic original with some HD reworking. It's sad that one site, cariedats, went under and no word on why or what happen to all the uploads. I feel it should be conserved somewhere because there's some really cool ones. But oh well

Same lol, I wouldnt swap much anymore, considering I also use alot of HD mods to make existing equipment look better.

If you have the dats, you could email them to my google drive and I'll throw them up and add them to this post. It's not a website or anything, but atleast people can access the files via this thread. If it gets big enough I wonder if the admins/mod could pin this post or something.

Unfortunately my dat collection extends up to 2010 pre-Escha xD. Though if I find the dats online I will add them to this thread.

Ah well thanks anyways. I went through a ton of old hard drives, no DATs found sadly.

Those pokemon are so derpy I love it

Man, I had forgotten all the emo face swaps lol. There was some legit amazing weapon swaps. I always liked the Odin spear inspired elemental staffs.

Both the derpy and the emo face were an absolute product of our time lol.
