Sortie ROEs And Alts, Oh My!

So, I have earned nearly 15,000,000 total Gallimaufry on my main character and had a grand total of one +2 Earring prior to the ROEs. After completing the Aminon ROE, I now have 2, but still only the single one came from all +1 cases en route to 15 mil muffins.

When the ROEs came out, I started progressing my alt/mule who had already progressed up to Dark Matter augments through the rest of Adoulin missions for sortie access. Tonight my static ran her through an 8 boss clear. She now has earned a lifetime total of 57,600 muffins, and she got a +2 earring from a +1 case.

So 263 times as many muffins earned, and both characters have produced one +2 earring!!

Yeah, sortie earrings are very stupid.

I have earned about 10M muffins so far, only seen 2 +2 earrings...but the real kicker? I have about 15/22 jobs with capped augments on +1 earrings. So if I get the remaining 7 with max augments, old cases and NQ ??? earrings won't even be worth NPC'ing for 3850 Gil.

You just know something is wrong when you can nearly complete a +1 earring set and only see two +2 earrings...

If you aren't doing Aminon on a regular basis your chances at a +2 is just above 3 and your chances at the +2 you want are 1.

Most 8/8 runs you won't even see a +1 and those +1s have a sub 5% chance at a +2.

NQ cases become worthless very fast and SE needs to address this with a second purpose. Hell most of the items become worthless fast. They need to take a page out of the UNM book and allow NQ cases to award Galli at random.

5% +1 ear
20% Galli (100-500 random)

Sortie teammate popped 71 +1 cases in a row and got a single +2.
I pop mine at the end of each run and went 1/62. My +1s are long capped.

I agree, but even that's not enough - a chance at Starstones and Sapphires, plus the ability to trade those in for galli (if they cost so much to purchase clearly they should be worth so much to trade in, right?!) would do it, maybe.

(really though just make the RoEs reset monthly, come on SE do iiit)

Even a thing like the adoulin galka, who buys back stones at... 1/4th? the price, would do wonders. Heck, even 1/10th tbh.

Yeah, some forms of stopgap measure would be nice for some players, about 4-5M lifetime total muffins here and 9 +2 earrings (3 double, 3 jobs lvl 1 when I got them). But at the same time, people that do 9/9 usually don’t complain about the drop rate, it’s the others.

Edit: when I got the PLD, likely first one of any server, wasn’t even unlocked….

I see at least 6 dupes in there, but still pretty impressive.

I keep all my +1s on my alt because I'm not filling up 8 wardrobes ever. When I get tired of waiting, the gil/disappointment will be the same.

Yeah I have quite the collection going myself. 850ish NQ cases, 100s of NQ earrings and 65ish +1 earrings.

Chances are its a worthless effort but I have the space to hold them.

Wardrobes are instantly accessed gear. Storage holds all my extra crap.

You have a max stat SAM+2. Anyone that gets that doesn't deserve to get another +2 ever!

I have around 15 +2's(1 or 2 from Aminon) but only 8 if you dont count dublicates, my first 4 was, pup pup cor pup. So the game kinda broke me early for +2 earrings..

Instead, trading boxes to Ruspix opens a menu where you can select the job you want a specific earring for. The downside is the quality of augments will always be of the lowest quality. This would eliminate dupes until you've gotten every single job's earring for +1/+2, which will still take a long time, but at least you won't be at 300 earrings and never see a dark knight or something stupid. Then change the current pop method so that augments are never the lowest quality and have a higher chance of being max augments. This way it's more of a risk to pop boxes but at a greater reward, while players can also choose a safer more guaranteed method for targeting earrings they want, with the cost of it not being bis.

with the addition of old case +2, it's easy. nq & +1: remove upgraded earrings from the pool of items, instead swap that with an upgraded case.
Old case: {job} earring or old case +1
Old case +1: {job} earring +1 or old case +2
Old case +2: {job} earring +2

Done, is what they're purposely avoiding.

As long as you have the slot machine mindset you'll keep going. If you improve earring obtainment odds, grinding sortie for your 5th prime will be less appealing.
