I use Windower, Gearswap (good one), AutoEnterKey, and MountMuzzle. I don't see/recognize the latter two up there, and I can honestly say I have no idea what the rest are supposed to represent XD

I'm sure this wasn't posted with the intention of having a real conversation, but for the purposes of avoiding my continued derailment of the rest of the forum, I'm gonna do it anyway. I unironically agree with this entire thing, except Windower. I think whether software is cheating is simple: Does it confer any advantage to the player that isn't reasonably achievable without it? I'm not sure what all of these pictures represent, but I've personally yet to find any addon or program which doesn't violate the above, at least by my definitions of "advantage" and "reasonably" Windower doesn't give any advantages that I'm aware of other than the option to multi-box which is, in my view, reasonably achievable without Windower (use a second PC). I actually recently upgraded my PC and was going to literally 2box to remove Windower from the equation but I don't have a great place to put the second tower and don't have a second KB/Mouse. #goals.  Go on, convince me that Windower is cheating or that your favorite addon isn't cheating

I'm comfortable with what I use, I don't consider it excessive, and I think to Godfry's point, it's not giving me the advantage to clear content I wouldn't be able to do without it. All the arbitrary moral lines in the sand aside, I've made peace with the fact that SE could ban me at any point for anything I'm using above POL launcher, and frankly, I'm ok with that. I've had fun, I've accomplished a lot, I've made lifelong friends (again). I've already got my backlog of games ready for when/if the day comes I don't have to grind sortie anymore :)

Eh, there are a couple reasons really. It's actually quite nice to not have to worry about which character you're currently alt-tabbed onto, having a keyboard which is always Maletaru and one which is always Mekillthings is quite convenient and makes it a bit easier. I used to 2box back when I played a {Long time} ago and I think I prefer it. Also it's kind of a black box, at least for me, and I can't say for certain it doesn't have some kind of built-in functions or shortcuts or whatever. To my knowledge there's no difference between a FFXI instance launched by vanilla POL and one launched by Windower, but that's putting it on faith and frankly I think there are probably some differences. Ultimately it doesn't really matter for my conscience because I know that I'm not using any of that funny business, but my friends (*** you SK especially) like to tease me about there being some hidden differences I'm not aware of and I can't honestly say with 100% certainty that there is no difference. Plus as you said, SE could decide to ban me for using Windower (if they can detect such a thing), and I don't share your carefree mindset about being banned. Of course this is extremely unlikely, but would be totally eliminated by launching the game 100% vanilla. All that said, I haven't actually done this (yet) so clearly I don't feel that strongly about it lol.

Vanilla players would be surprised at how much these auto-plugin suck. Sure, go and rely on auto-med when the 200 tic poison is about to murder you. Remove your hp down right before ngai ***-slaps you for 50% of your hp.
How many times I had to tell people to turn that ***off on ngai-xevioso v25 clear. A lot of it are very ideal for multi-boxing old content. They get in the way if you are doing anything that requires even modest skill at the job.
