Maletaru discovered that V1Flan has a low HP pool and a full party hitting all the goals in 3 runs is not happening.
So far, the only two accounts of "its about 30 minutes to hit all the goals" is soloers, who can amass their own damage taken, who are the only ones casting, WSing, SCing, MBing etc etc the mob with limited HP.
Its almost as if I know what I'm talking about.

There's so much "daily" stuff that its coming out of my ears in ffxi lately. Luckily I just play for fun and realize that the poulange thingy they just did with sidegrade idle armor isn't worth it, the prime grind which isn't worth it, this new ambu thing that isn't worth it etc, but its all good.
Its just SE doing their thing as best they know how as a billion dollar company not worried about us players (especially NA cmon we know how JP vs NA has been for 20 years). I can just ignore their tomfoolery and play the game how I want.
It doesn't matter much, the core game is pretty good and despite their best efforts to 86 it, it keeps on goin on because of the bone that were laid down a long time ago.
Eiryl is right but wrong. I'm right but wrong. As long as people are having fun its all good despite SE *** everything up.

Yeah, for me, I'm not doing extra dailies, I agree why do they think we want more? Who knows, SE is clearly out of sync? But they always have been so its old news.
I run sortie solo twice a week for 16k, sometimes solo kin, sometimes thief omen or thief key farm for gil.
I haven't seg farm in a year or more, nor any daily I guess for at least that long. Ambuscade I do five every five months. *** dailies, just not gonna do them on their timeline. On my terms for fun, when I want to.

Not gonna earn points with this one, but alts and mules is why they think you want dailies. The people logging in all 16 characters on their account for goblin mystery box and daily login money. It has a larger impact than people think, especially considering how few people all of the accounts we're responsible for, actually represent...

I will say that I think the idea of Vana'bout is absolutely fine. The rewards don't have to be mindblowing since, at its core, it seems like it's just supposed to be bonus ***on top of what you'd normally get from whatever event the Bout is focusing on.
Where they *** up is the amount of daily time they expect someone to put into it as well as the astronomical expectation on the overall goal. Keep in mind that what we see now isn't even the full extent. To get those 6 extra days of campaigns they expect 50% on top of that 16.3m. Ambuscade is also one of the easiest, most accessible things they could possibly have. Imagine if they make one for Odyssey or Sortie and 75% of the objectives aren't doable by the average Joe.
Lower it down to 3 daily RoEs that give 3-4x the Plaudits and cut that overall goal by 66% and we've got something.

What I will say is this could (I'm not saying it 100% does) give insight into the actual number of active subscriptions/accounts/IDs. They had to derive these numbers from somewhere, and they could have very lazily based it off of the expected number of plaudits earned by a certain % of active accounts. This obviously fails to account for how many of those accounts are AH mules, alt accounts, burner accounts, RMT accounts, etc. etc.
Just a thought, anyway.

That's exactly what they did. They're like oh geez, we got 200,000 "active characters" certainly 50k of them will do a couple ambuscades, they did billions of hallmarks last month.
The absolute delusional disconnect, not only failing to realize the "sub count" is dramatically lower that it appears, but the difference between a good ambu month and a dog turds month. And what constitutes a good reward and a jank reward.
Someone better get fired. Full Karen. (what's a Japanese Karen) Give the minimum effort deserving of the position.

So we're approaching the first 24 hours since Vanabout went live, and we're at: 338,980 / 16,275,000
So at this rate we're looking at ending on the 25th at around 4 million out of the 16 million.

Gotta think the past 24 hours was most likely to have the highest numbers too, with it being all new and shiny with people wanting to test it.
I could definitely see a downward trend happening with each passing day.
(Not advocating for people to push those numbers up, just having a laugh at what the hell the devs musta been smoking when they came up with that number, and those rewards as an incentive).

I'm 99% sure they took the goal by checking Frog month results, which is stupid and lack knowledge indeed. I also agree on prizes being on the "meh" side. What I don't agree about is this being a problem to grind. You don't even need to grind it at once and just make 1x 15min ambu V2 to hit all objectives related with damage/healing and 2x 4min ambu V2 wins later during some small breaks to hit all objectives with doing 3 Ambu.

How would you know which characters are people and which are their mules dredging currency? No one should be surprised that they underestimated our willingness to pay for the prize.
