The most remarkable thing about it is that XI has multiple solid weekly/monthly reset objective systems they could have used as a model for something successful. Can't even say it's daily for the sake of metrics either, since the event is only active for half the month.

Vanabout's current design belongs on a fridge somewhere.

Might have missed it here, but does anyone know how the rewards work? Is it like Deeds where you reach a threshold and you can claim everything under that category once? Or do you SPEND the plaudits? And if you spend them, can you repeat buy or one time only?

Posted in the "Van about" thread but didnt get an answer.

And watch people actually participate in Vana'Bout when the rewards are worth the effort.

Most people are not doing content just because its there. yes massa, thank you pankration massa, another massa. yes massa, thank you monstrosity massa, another massa.

Monstrosity was fun for a bit tho, ngl. But when people found out what the payoff was, it got dropped by the playerbase.

Bingo.

Nobody is calling for Fujito's head over this. He clearly cares about keeping the game alive and making things more accessible for new/future players, but he's badly out of touch with or just doesn't care about the veteran player base. That's not going to change without pushback. If they roll Vanabout round 2 with something players actually want and are willing to work for, game on.

To head off any "what do you expect in maintenance mode" arguments; The issues with Vanabout are not due to a lack of time or resources, just the specific choices made during development.

Pushback will and has changed things. It's just very hard to get an addict to say no to their meth.
(even if it will result in slightly better meth as a result)

It's wild you haven't understood most people gave up expecting anything of value from SE and this Vana "slouch" pretty much cemented that notion.

By all means, tell me more about how bitching isn't going to fix anything while I play Cyberpunk in 4k skipping doing anything other than V25 stuff since they dropped the ball with sortie/primes/endgame
