Still using EU version yes.


Hmm after going through every thing in the PoL Viewer, i just remebered i had kinda same issue looong time ago but for a very shorter period of time, more like what OP is experiencing. There i did "Enable" on the "Network Check" in the "Network Setting".
Gonna enable it and see how that goes...:)

FFXI is incredibly sensitive to ISPs screwing around with carrier grade NAT or changing your egress IP. If something like that happens FFXI won't attempt to renegotiate a new connection for your session and instead you need to go back to character selection or even login again.

Best way to get around the ISP is to tunnel to US or Japan, then it's the VPN software that renegotiates whenever the ISP does dumb stuff and nothing changes from FFXIs point of view.

I know this because I used to play from South Korea and KT would mess with my internet randomly. VPN to Japan solved the whole problem.

When I use the EU PoL from the US, it does the same "disconnect after exactly X hours" behavior. I wonder if the opposite is also true (NA client from EU).

No, I use the NA version as I'm an NA player.

I'm just gonna have to try a VPN because I've opened up all the router ports and still d/c'ing every 30-45 mins or just stop playing the game. I pay for 4 accounts and only being able to stay connected for 45 minutes is an utter waste of time and money tbh. I have no issues connecting or staying connected to anything else in my catalog that is an MMO for hours on end.

I will try this now tbh and give it a try over the next 2 hours or so. I'll let you know how it works out. Thank you so much for the suggestion.

I started getting 4001 errors about three weeks ago and can't seem to resolve it. The most I can stay online is about 1 to 1.5 hours. I've tried everything I can think of. Using just POL without windower/dgvoodoo. Using it with. Port Forwarding. Direct ethernet connection. Connection check enabled and disabled. It's driving me nuts. Is anyone else have issues recently?

Something wonky is/has been going on, things are not functioning at 100%. I got an error earlier i can't ever recall getting before.

Can you run a constant ping to google just to verify that its not your internet taking a ***every 60-90 minutes?

Thanks for the idea. I'm running it right now but not sure what to look for if it's disconnects or the fix.

Still running steady on vanilla. The longest without a 4001 in three weeks. I'll let it sit overnight to make sure. The brightness is oversaturated but I didn't want to tweak anything until I could maintain a steady connection. It's possible it was a Xfinity issue, I guess and they just so happened to correct it today but I'll run windower tomorrow to see how that goes. Can anyone think of a reason vanilla POL would work but windower would not?

Edit: Dropped overnight without a ping timeout. Back to the drawing board.

I deal with this too, but for some strange reason it only seems to affect me in Abyssea or Dynamis. I can AFK in town for weeks and not disconnect once, but 30mins into farming Abyssea and my 3 chars will 1 by 1 DC.

The strange thing is only 1 character gets hit at a time. The DC does not eject me out of FFXI. It just dumps me back into the character selection screen and I can immediately log back in without any delays.

Could be your windower addons are making XI stutter and causing timeouts. Start with a minimal number of addons.

Also can set high priority on XI process.

Just had 2 instances of 4001 or 3001 on multiple characters while zoning only. Happens a lot more frequently than I'd like, but only when zoning. Once I'm in an area I'm fine.

Can always log back in fine, but sometimes it takes up to 5 minutes to kick the character completely out.

I am having the 3001 issue while zoning almost daily. Only solution has been to restart router, which is tedious.

Yes I use FrameRateDivisor 1, so running at 60 fps.
