Million dollar idea: a system where drops go into a pool where members that have the job, or interest, roll dice to get it.
Congrats guys, now instead of everyone getting a +1 case after a boss, one will drop to the pool! We solved loot! Enjoy your pugs.
I missed the part where I said "one will drop to the pool". Why not 6 random earring dropping in the pool and people sorting out who gets what?
Corrupt a wish!
Having said that, I extremely dislike BS around "for the job are you on" because people frequently go on jobs they aren't gearing to help the team. You would be screwing over every GEO, BRD, WHM and SCH in the game, maybe even more.

I was mostly just being cheeky. I think theoretically it would be better if they just put a bunch of +2 earrings in the pool, but you'll still have lots of strife over people who "Main" WAR getting upset when the guy who casually plays WAR gets "their earring".
As an aside, I think this would only ever happen in a different video game. In FFXI this type of system exists for...seals/crests and uh...I'm not sure if I can think of anything else? Maybe there's something else...

One of the few things 14 did right. The Need/Greed system worked well for that stuff.

I agree. It definitely has its drawbacks. But given how rare +2s are, if people are locked on a single job choice, I doubt the guy who casually plays war will put his name under war earring +2, and lose the opportunity to get his super awesome pup+2. This kind of falls into the need/greed system Taint mentioned above.
How are you people doing 10k Gallimaufry solo runs? What jobs? Strats?
A BLU can cleave all of area A down, then respawn and recleave, then respawn and recleave. Also boss A is pretty easy to solo for an easy 2K points. May not be interesting but an hour of just cleaning monsters will give over 10K, I know folks that were hitting 20K in there.

There is no way to get 20k solo on cleave. That's ***. Every time you respawn mobs you get less galli from them, so you can't really get efficient just spamming A. Im pretty sure it's just another guess you make and try to sell it as fact.
There is a video of guy doing 20k+ from cleave and no bosses, but it's like 6 box cleave of basement areas, where you get way more galli per mob and he also clear 3 or 4 groups of Naakuls.

Several jobs can clear AE bosses. WAR, RDM and SCH that's I've seen or done myself. That's 12k alone and depending on the job and how well geared, can be done in under 30 mins.
There is a dude trust-ng dhartok on DRG in 30 mins so I would say 12k is within reach.
You can get probably even 20k solo if you make AE and roaming optimal. JP guy that I mentioned had few 18k runs. With some luck with NMs spawning you could probably get 20k.
Heads up though, maybe not the most time efficient, but adding tbe 3 non-fighting basement objectives in the grind will add chances for starstone and +1 chests (if they actually exists).
Ghatjot, the 4 Abject NMs and a party of fomor with the chests you pick up along the way at doors and devices puts you right at 10k galli
I think the point here is to do that AND Dhartok.
Of course, but not everyone has access to these jobs. I was just highlighting for those who think they would struggle with E, you can still clear 10k without going into the basement.

They mildly exist. More than other places at least

I usually have a core set of objectives I complete no matter what job I'm on if I'm solo. Ghatjot, all lesser NMs and the chests from doors/devices as well as 4-step fomor group in order. This leaves me with 20-25 mins depending on NM placement.
If I don't have any starstones I do exactly what you suggested. It eats up most of the rest of your time, but obviously worth it if you have armor to upgrade.
If I do have starstones then I'm usually doing Dhartok unless I'm on a less geared job or if I don't feel like puddle dancing.
If I'm feeling randy I go to F and try all my best pick up lines on Ixion. I don't think she's ever putting out =/
In this discussion I saw 20k solo (just with trusts) and I agree with Simon thats a lucky day and not a regular thing. Also a lot of yall put in your calculations the 4 upstairs nms and thats luck based also.
On Sam/dnc, I enter and I summon Shantotto II, Star Sibyl, Koru, Ulmia, and Monbereaux and immediately go left. Pull leeches and get last magic kill with Shantotto (which sucks) for 6 kills. Desummon Shantotto and Star add Joachim and Sylvie then zone up take out Ghatjot using yaeg and meikyo etc just to speed it up. That takes 15-22 mins.
Then jog SE to Device A and enter basement, kill 3 flans, then hope bitzer is with the 13 flans upstairs and murder them all with Ageha > 4 step and positioning. Thats another 18 min at least. After that its decide whether need starstones or galli and hope I've gotten a few upstairs nms already to where going for aurum chest makes sense.
Usually its 7k to 10k galli and starstones are probably a 10-15% drop rate.
I'd love to enter on Sam and kill 2 basement nms for 12k. Much simpler.
If D objectives are a goal for galli, I used Sam/smn for at least 300k galli and it was very nice and easy. Now I'm trying for bosses so the kill C basement seems very interesting. More details there would be awesome including streamlining getting the metal.
Idk how people killing G boss with SAM triboxing. Assuming its BRD COR SAM? I tried that and Amnesia from pillars and bind and stun from boss are so annoying, that I maybe made 4 WSs during Yaegasumi. I can easily see killing it during Yaegasumi if there is no amnesia and stun, but otherwise not really. Are people are just getting lucky or it's some different setup than BRD and COR? Unless maybe its full Nyame for TP and WS and barfira from /whm making resist Amnesia and stun possible?

Simon said 20k. Just keep in mind that some of these runs are prepped so it's not something you would do every day.
You would farm case/stone/metal on day one and unload on day two.

Its a guess, but seeing many videos of those fights, i noticed that dhartok and triboulex only add their fetters once they use the tp move in a target that has the debuff on it.
Maybe coincidence, but i noticed that ive been rarely seeing any cloud from dhartok, but maybe thats because im quick to remove poison.
If that theory is correct, maybe if you can remove quickly bio, then that will prevent or at least reduce the rate of pillars spawn.
Though, if you just feed tp while everyone is bio-ed, then you gonna see hundreds of pillars.
Maybe similar to the DRG fights, there should be a limit how many pillars can stay up at a given time, so if one can survive setting the stage with devs hint (white dmg), then you can extend the fight till there is no more pillars available to spawn.

It takes some getting used to but once you have it down it's not so bad. Basically lock on and adjust position around the boss after every WS, you can pre-empt the fetter spawn and avoid the debuff. Occasionally you get in a tricky bind/amnesia combo but if you keep moving you'll have a dead boss in a pretty spiral of fetters.
We go SAM BRD COR, SAM is wearing a hybrid meva/SB set (Emp+3+kenda hands/feet) position for songs so the trusts get dark carols and ballads.
I usually do ageha + a 4 step then pop yaeg. if lucky its dead before the end of the SP, otherwise pop meditate and keep going.
SV Fire Carol and Barfira from a WHM is enough to essentially floor Amnesia land rate from the pillars in malignance gear level magic evasion. without a WHM you might need another Carol, or maybe its already overkill, I don't know.
