Mouse Cursor Replacement?

I'm looking to replace my in game mouse cursor, either something a little bigger or something that helps them to stand out a bit. On a 4k monitor the cursor tends to get lost, so anything would likely be an improvement.

I did some digging and found a similar thread on this from 2014:

I tried Sithel's replacement files from the 2014 thread, but for whatever reason the mouse remained the same in game. If anyone could point me in the direction of some replacement files (should they exist) or how I could make the cursors bigger myself would be much appreciated.

To be clear, I'm not referring to the triange shaped icon you see when moving through your menus. I'm referring to the mousehit.ani, mousenor.ani, and/or mousenor.cur files everyone has in your POL > SE > FFXI folders.

If you increase your mouse size in your mouse settings it’ll increase the in-game mouse. I also play in 4K and this is what works for me :)

Delete them and you will use you current windows cursors in the game

Sorry for the necro bump, but I too was looking around to see where I can replace my mouse cursor with no luck.

I did what Dane suggested, deleted the files but that did nothing.

Any one know how I can make this tiny cursor larger or replaceable?

Open windower launcher, hit the pencil icon, turn on hardware mouse. This will give you the proper mouse pointer and not the dinky one.
