Well, since Asura didn’t use to be like this, I have to wonder if it was all the server merges/transfers that turned it into what it is now.

Yes, it can be difficult until you find a solid link shell to play with, but geez, it’s not flipping purgatory like some of these guys would like you to think it is.

I do think it is a bit sad that the op seems to generally want/need some insight on switching servers, partially due to the use of the database feature and well... probably just the reaction from others. Granted the dull forms of satire, most of the comments are accurate, you will have something that is not ideal given the server you are currently on. The only point I should bring up is the discount campaigns, which in most cases, you're already spending money to play the game. Those time periods will offer a bit of relief to swapping to a server, giving you some time to explore and interact with others. Also I personally have found the Odin server to be very relaxed and quite helpful, could just be the ego check from the JP community, reminds me of the old days. Good luck and let me know if you happen to make it to Odin, do not mind at all helping out or just chatting.

I don’t get the hatred for Asura. 90% of the people I come across are pleasant and knowledgeable. That’s more than I can say for people I come across in real life

From what I have heard you will lose all Aeonic progression if you change servers. If you aren't working on one then you are good for that :)

Pretty sure this is and can easily be fact-checked by any of the many people that frequent these forums and server hop on the regular. I thought it was just Auction House listing, Delivery inbox, and linkshells that get borked when you change servers. Nothing else.
