Mastery Rank Data

On the thought of losing rank when losing your medals, I wonder if you also lose rank when you restart a new mythic weapon and it resets completion of those four quests. I'm midway through Gastra at the moment and forgot about it until I was writing a quest checker that told me I hadn't finished those quests.

Dropping my titles addon here as well, please let me know if you have any issues with it.

This addon will automatically record all titles it sees either from the player information packet (happens on zoning, checking your status page, etc) along with the 16 title NPC bards that have records of all your character data. You just need to interact with them once and it will read everything.

There's an exclusions file which won't "count" anything in it as a missing title (things like unobtainable, bugged, exclusive, etc titles) but if you do own these titles it will record them and increase the total count. Feel free to remove anything from it that you personally consider obtainable, like some servers may actually be able to do the besieged BCNMs.

The addon supports listing out your owned or missing titles based on what it's recorded, either to the game log or exported to files inside the addon folder. Hope this helps people who are hunting them.

I took this a step further. Use any addon* to generate a file with a list of missing titles for your character.

If you copy/paste the missing titles into my script, you can get a CSV file, or a clickable, sortable, HTML page that helps you keep track of your titles in almost real-time:

This is nice, but I hate you for making me learn how to use python, not as easy as the ws sim was.

Finally got this guy to spawn. I lost count of the attempts.



It's been quite a while since there was a mention of PVP titles. Has anyone seen them count for anything? Not sure I should invest any time in them. Summoning★Star, Surging★Star, etc. I havne't looked into how grindy they are yet... good time to use old mule accounts during the free login.

My mule just ranked up. Only thing I've done new the past few days is Monstrosity.

2 Incursion titles
A few VD HTBF, Mimic, etc
A few Master Trials
Fishing Contest - I won it before and came in I think 3rd, but I don't see the old titles on the NPC. Weird.
135 Crag Fights
1000 Moblin Mazes
2 Odyssey NMs I somehow never killed.
Airship quests... although I bet I'm not far off from the first since I used to do it when I was bored going to Kazham to XP back in the day.
I still need a stupid Cloud Evoker. I'm like 0/100+ on the weekly quests.
Got a bunch of Campaign Ops that I've been working on lately, but a pain. Pit Spiders, Brave Dawn, Cut and Cauterize... I don't feel like spamming alone anymore. hah.

And various other things I *think* I completed, but not positive. I have a word doc I've been working through. Re-doing some things I think I did that I can't verify via title npc. Kind of fun digging deep into all the content.

Titles should be on the Selbina bard. Also the Fish Ranking NPC should tell you how many times you achieved each rank.

Don't use a word doc. Load the addon, talk to the 16 Title NPCs and it'll create it for you. You can also get an accurate count of how many titles you have. I got Rank 8 at ~880 titles, but if you got it at 800 (we could theoretically isolate what the trigger for ranking up is).

I'm an ashita v3 user. Maybe I'll try v4 or windower that works for the plguin, but I'm lazy and don't play all that much. haha.

necro quote! Has anyone else got the "ballistager" title? could you share how you got it? I just turned in my gold chevron and didn't get this title, although it was 2 vanabouts ago when I actually got it so maybe I'm handing it in too late?

1018 titles (1025 if you include bugged/random/ballista ones) here's my list of missing from using the addon, I don't have a crafting shield

Finally got around to cashing in all of the imprimaturs on hand. Legend in all coalitions was not enough to push this char to rank 4, but when I finished the Mog Garden questline, it gave rank 4.

What rank are you currently, with 1018 titles?

Got unlazy and installed a newer version to do it. Haha. Found a small batch of ones I thought I knocked off, so this was worth it.

I addressed this recently (Link), but you need to make sure you have the chevron title active when you turn in the chevron to get the Ballistager title.

@felgarr i'm rank 9, I was @1015 when i first hit 9(1023 if you include bugged/random/ballista ones, since i had gold ballistar available still) getting apprentice rank in chocobo digging was what ranked me up though.

Monstrosity has to count for an absurd amount. I'm down to 5 titles left (1042/1047 from my own addon) and have done basically everything in the game except for the following:

* 3 newest master trials
* 3 V25 kills left (Ongo, Arebati, Bumba)
* Final escutcheon stage (just spirit left)
* 5 more campaign ops for Windurst
* 11th vorseals for the three DI dragons
* 1000 MMM mazes (@500)
* Mlvling to 50 (doubt this counts)
* 99% of Monstrosity (only one species to 90)

I don't think there's literally anything else left for me that I haven't done. And I'm still rank 8. In fact, before this patch, I didn't even get rank 8 until I was at like 1025 titles, which is more than you have with rank 9 lol.

Either that or login days count in some fashion, because this char is less than 4 years old.

I'll never find out, but I wonder if my lack of progress in leveling up incursion is why I was still rank 8. I never bothered getting those two titles because it required other people so my level is only one above the minimum

I'd like to think if I maxed out my incursion level, finished tvr story, and beat all sortie bosses that I'd pop rank 9. But I'll never know for sure!

One thing I don't think people have mentioned is finding mog-tablets. I've probably found a couple dozen or so and gotten every reward.

I've found a few but idk if it is tracked by the game in some way. I have been trying to catch them lately for orchestrion music.

I've been on/off trying to get the Fit for Prince title Consort Candidate - the one if you're the target of the quest. Just to knock it off the list and I think I found the hardest NM in the game. (It's easy to do through VNC while at work.)

I stupidly picked the 5B elvaan female model when I started. It refuses to come up. I wonder if they weighted the quest based on people's actual models in the game and I'm the rarest pop.



The silver haired version 5A comes up fairly often. 0 red head versions. They had gingers. I almost want to do a race change to complete it, and I hate the model. haha.

0/261 so far with my mule spam these past couple days. At least you can reset it once a minute. I've spammed a bit in the past until I was tired of it too.

Alright, so I just completed the last 2 out of 3 Stronghold battlefields (to be complete 3/3). After the last fight:

2 characters achieved Rank 6.
2 characters were already Rank 6
1 character stayed Rank 5.

I did a Title comparison of the two characters that achieved Rank 6:

Galka: Exactly 500 acquired Titles (304 RoE completed).
Tarutaru: Exactly 481 acquired Titles (398 RoE completed).

Some interesting facts about 2 characters that were already Rank 6 after acquiring these 2 titles:

Taru2: 482 Titles Acquired (314 RoE complete).
Taru3: 504 Titles Acquired (314 RoE complete).

Now here's the kicker, the character that is still Rank 5? He has exactly 495 titles acquired and 447 RoE complete. This should theoretically be enough to attain Rank 6, especially if 4 other characters at or below this vicinity have reached Rank 6 already, right?

So let's do a comparison of all rank 6 characters titles that the Rank 5 character doesn't have yet. What does that list of titles have in common? (the lines in white):



They're showing that they have Heir to the New Moon, (and Lupine Liquidator) and a VWNM title, the shadow version of Sidhe. (I think the VWNM just happens to be coincidence, as all of my characters have multiple VWNM titles). From this, I would conclude that Heir to the New Moon is a hard requirement for a rank up.
Edit: This Rank 5 character made it to Rank 6 with no additional titles and simply crossing 450 RoE completions.

Here's some additional data I've extrapolated from my characters at Rank 6:
For Quest AF completions, I have 4 Rank 6 characters with 9,10,12,13 AF quest-line completions, and similarly, 9,10,12 and 13 jobs to 2100 Job Points.

Rank 4 characters:
Known Titles (350), RoE (188)
Known Titles (371), RoE (191)
Known Titles (351), RoE (196)

Rank 5 characters:

I know this isn't very ground breaking, but I hope this helps someone deciding where to take their character next. Of course, if you have attained Rank 6 and don't have Heir to the New Moon, I'd love for you to dump your titles using Thorny or Kayte's addon, so we can compare and find as many rank ups as possible.

OK, wow Rank 5 character just made it to Rank 6.

I did +12 RoEs from UNM Wanted I category (bringing my RoE from 447 to 459).

So I think the Mastery Rank formula is a number of Points for Titles and RoE completion, with the requirement that specific content objectives are required to Rank Up.

Either: I invalidated my own Hypothesis, or both 450 RoE completions and Heir to the New Moon are separate Rank Up from Heir of the New Moon.

Start tracking. It's on a pretty easily repeatable pattern, and no some will never pop up for certain people. I had several people go through their pattern till I found my model, and then just made a character to match the one I needed for my match for the second title

I had one of the titles on Lakshmi too. Mamools took it, and then a second time Mamools took it again so I was kinda bummed it wasn't trolls or undead, ha. I only saw two losses on our end before I stopped playing, but now with besieged updates I doubt it will ever happen again

I'm at 912 completed RoE ...how are people getting over 1,000?
