That's a nice clean run.

Is that 70k savage blade a rng? nvm he's war

That's impressive. Is that a 3k TP savage or mighty strikes spam?
He used Mighty Strikes and Brazen rush. 70K plus Savage blades during mighty strikes is fairly common, given decently sufficient pdif, and str boosted like they were here provided you made a good SB set to begin with. I know my LS is tired of seeing me savage blade all the things on WAR.

I have an ethical issue with slaughtering Qiqirns. I barely made it through that one TVR mission. Where do I file my complaint with SE over this?!?

Is it known what causes them to spam PD? actually getting annoying and becoming so consistent that it must be a mechanic and not RNG.

It seems completely random. We're trioing it on D with RDM/COR/PLD doing the exact same thing everytime and runs range from 10mins to 25 if a mob decides to spam PD with no gaps between uses. The only consistent thing being that if PD is used early, it'll seemingly be heavily favored and spammed all the way through.

Enemies that spam PD / Invin barely nudge the difficulty meter, they just artificially waste time.

I have a theory that it's tied to their Steal abilities. They might gain access to it after a while if they're not killed within a certain time and they steal enough abilities from the players.

I don't really think that's it, unless stealing an ability once is enough to trigger it. The most egregious occurence we had was an add using it right at the very start after getting whacked once and using it back-to-back without letting it drop 4 times. We've also had runs where none of the adds or boss used it even once the entire time. ***just feels random.

Pretty late into the month, but mentioning the strat we went with for posterity sake.

We're 4 with a lack of flexibility in jobs and landed on PLD/RDM/COR/GEO as our comp of choice. Note that we were only doing 1 run per day because of the campaign and thus were using chainspell for CCs at the start, but you could easily get away with slower CCs or the GEO runing /blm to ES sleepga to open with.

Strat went as follow:

RDM Saboteurs/Chainspells, binds boss then sleep II each adds one by one as the COR shoots one and starts engaging it.

GEO runs Indi Frailty / Geo Malaise. Assist on healing/erase/can magic burst on SCs.

Tank keeps hate on the boss and current add and focuses on healing. If the boss' bind drops, kite until it's bound again. The boss cannot drop bombs if it doesn't reach melee range and thus can't wake up adds.

RDM Frazzles/Distracts adds on engage. Add Inundation for the boss to speed things up. Enaero seems to do the most damage (up to 6k per auto rounds). Keep an eye peeled to rebind boss asap if it loses it. For us at least, the boss never needed to get rebound more than 1 or 2 times during the time it took to kill the adds. Resleeps shouldn't be necessary as long as your sleep set is decent enough.

For DPS, we chained Leaden > Seraph > Leaden for Disto/Darkness over and over.

Total runtime in VD depending on PD luck was 10-15mins. D was 7-10mins. Note that our GEO doesn't have Idris and the PLD's gear is nothing special and wasn't DPSing.

Trusts are mostly useless, just been carrying peoples for free for the extra gallantry.

Still can't believe SE gave us Cornelia only to throw in an Ambuscade that actively punishes you for using her right after.... well played I suppose.

Qiqirns are immune to geomancy.

Knowing that Qiqirn were immune to geomancy is why the thread exists, which you didn't read. I ain't mad at you, I'm just making a statement.

It should be on the wiki and it should be in the OP, but it isn't. People be lazy.

That's probably correct, yeah. We honestly assumed it was just nerfed to ***but still did something based on the fact the wiki lists offensive geomancy as simply not triggering the gimmick and nothing else. Our GEO has no other jobs so we din't look too much into optimizing his slot. He'll be heartbroken to learn he's completely useless if that's the case, though lmao.

He isn't completely useless, under utilized maybe. Using support bubbles he would be suboptimal but servicable. Plus he could melee and help with damage or healing.

Using support bubbles would cause the enemies to level up infinitely and lose the fight.

Melee is a good idea, and would help with some other fights. GEO could probably be meleeing more often that we think.
