correct; however hes also charging the others with accessory to second degree murder which will literally be impossible to stick.
if he went for involuntary manslaughter hed have about a 75% chance of winning that case, but he went for *** broke here and went for murder2, which any third rate attorney is going to get thrown out of court in this case given three immediate facts
1. The law specifically states that the hold employed against floyd is acceptable and legal under their states laws, and he was a SENIOR FIELD TRAINING OFFICER OF 19 YEARS.
2. That george floyd had a lethal amount of fentanyl and meth in his system at the time of arrest, which the lead cause of death in fentanyl overdose is cardiac arrest
3. His autopsy done by the state found ZERO evidence of neck trauma, or evidence of asphyxiation, but did find he died of cardiac arrest, had significant heart issues, and sickle cell
Combine those three and any attorney worth their salt is going to get the average person believing there was a possiblity that he died from complications beyond the officers control.

I believe the Washington Post had a video asking him about it a few days prior. There's a way more credible source, a reddit post from KotakuInAction Part DEUX, about a tweet from a guy who said a thing.

I don't think that would not be a smart play unless he has more evidence. And I think if he had new better evidence to support that charge, we would know about it. At the very least the defense would have to.

you're misreading my statement; Withholding from the public is not the same as withholding from the prosecution.
You’ve posted this twice now. Both times you said prosecution... you’re misattributing what is considered withholding the exculpatory evidence from the defense. You know in other words evidence of innocence.
Appeasing the court of public opinion is not the burden of a state attorney general no matter how much you want it to be.
Also, not releasing evidence to the public is not the same as withholding evidence from the defense team, probably shouldn't use the term "withholding" at all in this case. Just trying to take a cheap shot at Ellison it seems like, he isn't doing anything wrong.
Personally, I don't GAF who Keith Ellison is, or his political biases are, since he doesn't affect me or my area at all. As long as he does his job and prosecutes (or have somebody competent do it) and convicts these cops, that's all that matters to me.
I'm no medical doctor, but I cannot fathom the relevance of this to having a heart attack. He carried the trait, but did not suffer from sickle cell anemia. It just seems like a factor that is added to a list on alt right websites because they know the people reading it will be too stupid to understand it is irrelevant.
last i checked Sicklecell is a considerable risk factor for cardiac arrest - and i could be mistaken, but it was specifically listed as a complicating factor on his autopsy report.

The fatal average dosage of fentanyl is 9.5ng/ml. Floyd had nearly double that amount in his system at 16.6 ng/ml.
Couple that with the 19 ng/ml of Meth in his system, of which i believe can be toxic/fatal at over 10.

Because it’s evidence for the pending trial. If it exonerates the officers it exonerates them. He has a duty to not taint the potential jury pool by prematurely releasing evidence to the public. Let alone not tamper with said evidence by releasing it.
I do not disagree with this one bit. That being said, why, then, if body cam footage in a similar situation could be used (presumably) to show the police officers poor actions/story inconsistencies, you will see the media and liberal politicians clammer and scream that they need to release the footage to the public, even if there is pending litigation?
