There are a large number of resisting arrest accidental deaths.

Most cops don't wake up each day hoping someone resists arrest so that they can kill someone on purpose.

People who are legitimately resisting arrest, are all involved with criminal activity somehow. Innocent people don't resist arrest, they go to jail, wait for their day in court.

actually, you cant even charge a person with resisting arrest if there is no primary charge. by its very definition, a cop must be putting you under arrest for one reason or another in order for you to be able to resist said arrest.

no its not. its a secondary charge. the only instance in which you can be arrested for resisting arrest with no secondary charge, is in the event you disobey a lawful detention order.

Valid point, but cops are also the ones who can seem a charge against you. Once they say, 'you're under arrest for X' even if X is completely made up, they then can charge you for resisting arrest if you tell them to *** off.

Cops aren't courts, once they make up their mind that you are going to be arrested, it's not smart to try and fight with them about it. You need a lawyer.

But this all leads back to, why are the police involving themselves in your business in the first place, 99.99999% of the time it's not the cops bringing their own attention to your activities. Don't be in that position to begin with.

Only time I would support resisting arrest is if fascists start black bagging people, at that point, you do what you need to do inorder to preserve your safety.

This cop arrested a lawyer for resisting arrest.

Im aware of that instance; it's the token argument that people always use when trying to perpetuate the myth that a cop can just arrest you for resisting arrest. What they never mention is that the charges were dropped against this person and the cop was reprimanded for it. this is an example of him plainly breaking the law.

Breaking the law, getting away with it, with zero consequences and no repercussions.
