Probably should make a new thread for this, I would say that the DA would need to present an airtight case, perhaps even force a plea deal. They're having to go up against a union as well with their own attorneys.

My time working in a prison and jail I've had uses of force. I've put people on the ground and handcuffed them. The difference was that once handcuffed I also sat them up and didn't continue applying pressure to their neck and torso. I was always aware of positional asphyxiation and "reasonable and necessary". Some times pressure points were used to gain compliance (stand up, sit down, don't spit on me).

I'm waiting to see 1: if they're charged, 2: which ones are charged, and 3: what the charge(s) will be.

Hard to say, but I would put this one in a different league from most of the other police brutality instances that have hit major news. I'm no defense lawyer, but I imagine the one working this case is really going to have his job cut out for him. I expect prison time for the main policeman.

Well... actually there IS a pro truth bias. And conservatives are anti truth. So it winds up looking a lot like an anti consertive bias.

Could be, but there's probably some red tape to clear first. Once a case becomes super high profile the whole process can get a bit chaotic.

No one missed the title of the thread, you hand-waved the point of his post. His post was about a select few hateful people posting exclusively hateful rants about Trump. It's possible to post neutral and even positive things about Trump. The left never, ever gives credit where credit is due. I challenge you to say one genuinely positive thing about Trump (that's not obviously backhanded or sarcastic). Any rational person could do this with any former democrat president. There are very few people who are pure chaotic evil, and Trump is definitely not one of them, but you people are so brainwashed by facts I don't like headlines that you behave as if Trump is some fantasy villain.

So if you say one nice thing about Trump, and then suggest a democrat politician whose policies you like, then I'll find one nice thing to say about that person. Maybe we could even find a middle ground instead of only slinging ***. I have a very bad feeling about the reality of this exercise, though.

It would be an absolute miracle if any charges were brought against this officer.
The only reason this is a thing is because it was caught on video.
You should see the ***cops get away with where I live. People are killed by cops pretty regularly for questionable reasons and none of them go down for it. It's not hard for a crooked cop to hide behind the blue shield, so many of them do.

Admittedly, by partisan standards, neither side does nearly as much as they should but there are really good people on both sides of the aisle here so speaking in absolutes is a little too much.
