"Selling a book" isn't enough to discredit a career politician like John Bolton. I'm sure you and the GOP will try to run that line into the ground starting an hour ago, but it doesn't matter. The guy took notes of all of his conversations in the WH, before he even knew he was gonna be on the street writing a book.

Too bad notes aren’t proof. Even in your best-case scenario, you still don’t even have a crime. You can squeeze every last drop out of this impeachment stone and you’re still not even within a light year of getting 2/3 of the Senate.

Yeah, your #1 fallback option.

Remember, the beauty of lying under oath is that you can’t get convicted of perjury for making a statement that nobody can disprove. On the other hand, without a recorded conversation it’s almost impossible to prove too. That’s where the credibility of the witness comes in, and that was just screwed by the fact that he now has a monetary incentive to repeat whatever he stated in his book.

Maybe he could prove it if the white house wasn't withholding all the documentation?

“Documentation”. Exactly what is in that documentation? They’re the defense, they are under no obligation to give the prosecution endless documentation so that they can go on a fishing expedition. Get a subpoena or shut up.

Of course they are, this was a total blindside. Trump's former National Security Advisor has direct, credible evidence of the extortion scheme, and he needs to testify, and they know it, and they don't want to answer questions about it.

They already did, but since it's discussions involving Trump, everything falls under "executive privilege".

Then my statement guess one step further. Fight it in court or shut up.

The great thing is according to the rules the GOP passed any executive privilege complaints will be settled by the Chief Justice, so there will be no months long legal battles.

And if those are the rules then so be it. There’s just no use crying about not getting documents that you have no legal right to obtain. Every president claims executive privilege, and it’s not even the sleaziest tactic that’s used by politicians to protect themselves. I didn’t see you guys whining when Clinton subverted witness testimony by hiring witnesses as legal counsel.

Not sure why you think Congress has no legal right to obtain any documents, especially when abuse of power is involved. Congress has every right to those documents, and if the GOP finally subpoenas them the Trump admin has almost no chance of winning that fight.

That’s cute. Even cuter is how you guys always seem to think that the smoking gun is out there somewhere, just out of arm’s reach because of Trump and those dastardly Republicans.

Do you really think JOHN BOLTON, the Republican war hawk of war hawks that loves Israel and hates Iran is going to help Democrats? Do you really think this though?

Isn't it more likely that he is just spoofing you to sell books and then it will turn out to be nothing?

You are so desperate you'll cling to anything even if it makes zero sense. They blue ball you constantly and you still jump on any bait..

The left will almost always forgive when someone on their side does something they say is bad (the many democrat / left party leaders in various nations who did blackface /racist / antisemetic and other things that were quickly forgotten for instance) but the right does not work this way, this is either their weakness or their virtue but when they find someone on their side that does something proven to be bad they do not stand with them.
