Campaign Period
Monday, November 18, at 12:00 a.m. (PST) to Wednesday, December 4, at 6:59 a.m.
Dynamis - Divergence Statue Crusher Campaign – PLUS!
An additional reward will be granted upon vanquishing statues, and occasionally items of particularly high value will drop.
Statue Crusher Campaign - PLUS!
When this Monthly Adventurer Campaign is active, all players in the instance receive extra loot when any type of statue is defeated.
1st Wave: Every player receives ONE of the following: Rusted Identification Card, Beastmen's Medal, a Torsoshard, or a Footshard/Handshard/Headshard/Legshard in their inventory.
All shard drops depend on the zone you are in (Bodies are all zones), and you only obtain shards for the current job you are playing.
2nd Wave: Every player receives ONE of the following: Blackened Identification Card, Kindred's Medal, a Voidtorso, or a Voidfoot/Voidhand/Voidhead/Voidleg in their inventory.
Yeah, he obviously must've just spammed Dyna D in the last 10 days on hundred's of characters in order to get 3000 Kindred's Medals, and 300+ of the other 2 medals. ;)

if you believe that someone could possibly farm almost ~3000 Kindreds Medals from Statue Crusher PLUS in a span of 9 days with a drop rate of around 5%, I've got a bridge in brooklyn to sell you.

Point I'm making isn't that he used that, the point I'm making is they don't see increased supply as a problem at all cause they are self duping lots of them in the campaign for anyone that does DD.
So because SE gives a few extra possible medals during an event that happens occasionally, means SE doesn't care if people dupe and exploit the game? Must be why they banned 45+ people. Cause they didn't care.

Not saying they don't care, they banned people. I'm saying they don't care about the extra supply.
Having an extra maybe 1K medals on a server during a 2 week event is MUCH different than tens of thousands in 2 weeks. I see what you're trying to say, though.

Its more than likely that guy bought a huge supply and sat on it until after bannings. They never banned people for mass buying.
self duping lots of them in the campaign for anyone that does DD.
The dynamis shard campaign has absolutely zero to do with that guy's supply, not even sure why you brought that up. The amount of medals you can get is nowhere near the amount that guy has, so the two aren't even on the same level. With the entire server doing dynamis D since campaign start, thats 3 runs. Even with 1000 people doing it, you would barely see double that kind of supply, let alone with one person.

Only reason I posted in here again is because people were talking about a guy with 2.9K Beastmen Medals, and 300+ each of the other two medals as well shouting in Port Jeuno. Wasn't sure if it was someone bragging about a new dupe method or if they were showing everyone they missed some people with the ban so I brought it to attention. Feel free to discontinue reading if you so please. :)

It's not that they "missed" someone. It's that they didn't ban anyone that got medals from the ones using the dupes.
Hundred billion medals duped, and distributed, but as long as you pretend to ban 45 people everyone just forgets about the supply.

That makes sense. I mean, even Eli said that not all of his mules got hit so they had to have a missed a good handful of people.
Pretty stupid to login and show everyone you still have duped medals instead of waiting for the flame to die down and steadily offload them, but hey, that's just me.

I mean if you stored a hundred thousand and it looked like it blew over, it really wouldnt matter if you tested the waters with 3000. you've still got 97,000

Quote: Regarding an Item Duplication Exploit
Good day, adventurers. This is the Special Task Force (STF), the team charged with investigating and suppressing unethical conduct that negatively impacts players’ FINAL FANTASY XI experience.
Several days ago we confirmed that some players were using an external program to create duplicates of specific in-game items. We would first like to apologize for the concern that this has caused, as bits and pieces of this information were posted on unofficial fan sites and message boards.
This message is to inform you of the measures we have taken to address the exploit and the punishment disseminated to the culpable parties.
Background Information and How We Have Addressed the Exploit
On the night of November 12 (Japan time), we received a bug report stating that it was possible to receive an unlimited number of Beastmen’s Medals and Kindred’s Medals. We acted immediately to verify the report, and determined that it was, in fact, possible to duplicate the items in question. We consulted with producer Akihiko Matsui and temporarily removed the affected NPC as a provisional emergency measure.
The development team then undertook a detailed investigation and confirmed that the exploit did exist and pinpointed concrete methods for consistently reproducing said exploit. As part of the emergency maintenance on November 14 (Japan time), we implemented a server-side fix addressing the exploit and have confirmed that it is no longer possible to duplicate items in this manner.
Player Punishment for Abuse of the Exploit
While the development team worked to fix the underlying cause, the STF focused on investigating suspicious players. We have completed our investigation of all characters who interacted with the NPC in question from early last week until the NPC was temporarily removed, and discovered that 45 players used the aforementioned exploit. We terminated the accounts of those 45 players on November 13 (Japan time).
We take the integrity of the game very seriously, and are widening the scope of the investigation to determine if any players used this exploit before the period in question, and whether or not it was possible for similar exploits to be used on other NPCs or items. If we discover any related conduct, those players will be punished in the same manner.
As we have communicated to players since the game’s inception, the use of external programs in FINAL FANTASY XI violates the Terms of Use, and we will take all necessary measures against players who do so, up to and including account termination. We would like to take this opportunity to again warn you against using such programs, as doing so will put your account in jeopardy.
If you witness any suspicious activity in-game or read information on how to perform such activities on external sources, do not try them yourself or distribute the information to others, and instead report them to the STF immediately.
We will continue to remain ever vigilant against suspicious activity in FINAL FANTASY XI and ask for your continued support in ensuring a level playing field for all players.
