Capped DT in your tp set would be this
ItemSet 400559
If you don't have JSE +2 earring the next best choice is telos earring imo. Sherida paired with telos is perfectly fine.

-39 DT in that set unless I'm overlooking something.
Feet 10
Rings 10
Cape 5
Hands 5
Body 9
39 DT
47 PDT
Capped MDT with shell

Gleti's Breeches have -8PDT. Can also pretty well assume cape is -10PDT.

Correct
With -10 PDT on the cape you have -52 PDT and -34 MDT. The remaining MDT comes from shell V. And you should always have shell V when you're fighting anything. Trusts cast it, your healer will have it, every party setup will always have someone who can cast shell on the group. So it's perfectly reasonable and valid to build your sets with the expectation that shell V will be up the vast majority of time you're fighting stuff.
That caps both physical and magical at 50 while still maintaining an optimal tp gain. It's the best capped -dt hybrid TP set available to us.
By Taint 2025-09-05 12:11:13
Makes sense. I was thinking capping DT for stuff like Odyssey where you need BDT as well for the fetters.

There are only two fights you bring a dancer to in Odyssey. Xevioso, and KI1 of V25 Arebati. Both of those fights are procced by critical hits, which dancer is extremely good at. You don't need to adjust anything for breath damage taken in there. Neither of those fetters should be up for very long, and dancer has waltz anyway. The set I listed is the staple for capped -dt. There isn't any content where you would need to alter it for breath damage if you just want a good hybrid. I don't even bother with the moonbeam rings in my tp set, opting for gere and lehko's ring instead, and I get by just fine.

Thanks Melliny, much appreciated!
So there are no fights or times when you feel like (oh ***) you need the Moonbeam Rings on over Gere & I guess Epona (Don't have Lenkos)?
By Veydal1 2025-09-06 02:07:15
I think it's worth having a turtle set where you're not dependent on Shell. Context matters, and in a fight like Arebati, depending on what strat you're using / execution of the strat, you could end up getting hit with dispels. Sometimes the healer is too busy or slow to get to re-applying Shell.
The Hybrid set above is definitely fine, but for those that want extra MEVA + DT, the below set is even in offense -
ItemSet 400567
Ton of MEVA from slotting in Null Shawl, though it's technically 3 DT off from cap. You can swap a Moonlight Ring for a Defending Ring to cover the gap. Dedition / Telos / +1 DNC earring, are all acceptable swaps as well. Can also swap in a Yamarang if you want to squeeze out a little extra MEVA.

Thanks for the input, I like having a turtle set too. Was wondering if there's a target to aim for for Meva. I have 615 in TP set, then upto 710 when trying to survive.

I would use the double moonlight rings in a heartbeat against Xevioso. His wind attacks are extremely powerful and the extra 220 max HP can be very important in that fight. I just haven't had to fight him in a while, and I don't feel the need for them in sortie. Also I picked a different ring than you did, which makes the minor details between our ideal choices slightly different.
Exactly this.

I personally always err on the side of more defense in all of my sets because the difference in DPS speed in melee or hybrid sets varies little from a defensive one, but the defensive benefits are massive.
Not sure about a target meva number, but for my meva sets I throw in the standard Nyame/meva accessories, then for my mdb set, I add in a couple of extra things like adamantite armor/raetic bangles+1/engulfers/lunette ring+1/warders/elemental sachets (job and fight depending)

Thanks Buukki, much appreciated.
One last question for now, does anyone on dnc ever break out H2H for blunt dmg in a segment runs? Asuran Fists spam with Karambit? If so, does anyone have a ws set I could have a look at?
I'd like to take my dnc on some c segment runs. Looking at what I can do/get ready to best help the party. I also don't have onion sword II, unfortunately I came back after that had ended.
Also, what do you usually sub in there?

You're probably better off either running ahead and killing a different camp solo, or just using Dagger and dealing with the resistance. Karambit H2H is horrible on DNC, and you get no native Martial Arts traits unless you sub MNK. You'd probably sub WAR or DRG, depending on your support (Berserk and DA is nice, though with Saber Dance, DA is less impactful)
Crazy idea that I'm sure nobody's thought of: If you want to be cute, DNC/WAR can learn Judgment if you equip enough skill to hit 200 Club skill. I'm ML34 DNC, and with a single Combatant's Torque and Mafic Cudgel, I'm @202 Club skill with Judgment unlocked. You'd have to drop the TP Bonus offhand, and make some gear sacrifices to hit decent accuracy, but DNC can probably do it, especially if you have high ranked Nyame or +3/4 gear. This probably wouldn't work on anything higher than C2, but might be fine on C1, and probably find on C2 with SV songs?
Here's a set I cobbled together that allows you to hit 1158 MH accuracy in WS set, before songs or food. Can add 58 (116) and ~108 accuracy from Sublime Sushi +1. Assuming HQ sushi and SV HM, can put you close to ~1380 MH accuracy.
ItemSet 400572
Terrible idea? Idk, but worth testing out :D
Probably won't hit hard on anything evasive or tanky, but can use it on Skeletons.
Climactic + Judgment, I should go try this out on some Apex mobs >.>
Trust buffs:
ML34
Sylvie - FuryPrecision/Frailty
Excenmille S - Attack Bonus
/WAR - Berserk
Saber Dance
Lvl 10 Box Step
Qultada - Chaos Roll, Fighter's Roll
Koru - Dia 3
w/ Climactic
Non Climactic
3k TP non-climactic with probably some MA procs
Not nearly as terrible as I thought it would be, might be interesting in Segments vs Skeletons.
Was able to still hit 1300+ accuracy with TP Bonus offhand and sublime sushi. Building Flourish + Judgment wasn't terrible either. I might try it in segments some day.
By the way, you need to have 200+ Club skill in your pre+midcast ws set. If you have it only in your precast and try to swap below 200 after using it, the WS will cancel with an error message. You also can't swap to 200+ in a midcast set, because you need 200+ to even activate the WS. Kinda funny learning experience.

As much as I love dancer, I can't recommend bringing it to segment farms if you have any other jobs available that are better for the job. I bring warrior to seg farms when I go the DD role because it's just so much more efficient. If dancer is your only DD job or the only thing you can bring to segments then I highly recommend working on leveling and gearing up another job or two in your spare time. A group with a dancer in can still bring in a decent chunk of segs, but if you wanna optimize your moglophones you'll have something more efficient. You'll need some other jobs for the T3 fights anyway since dancer is only used on Xevioso.
But in the context of your question, I'd just stick with the dagger and suck it up, unless you were fighting skeletons specifically. Asuran fists is underwhelming on dancer.

I was just having fun with Club DNC. I don't recommend it :)
The problem with DNC as a job in Sheol C Segments is that it's native weapon is piercing, and there are 15 nostos types that resist piercing. Whereas there are only 4* nostos types that resist slashing (*Qutrubs don't count because they take double damage). So naturally, people will want Slashing jobs. You're just sorely disadvantaged just based off of he monster types. Even MNK is better because it only faces 11 resistances. Piercing weapons just got screwed overall in Sheol C
If you're making your own parties though, by all means go DNC to your own stuff.

Ok thanks Melliny, Buukki.
Yeah, I do have a pretty decent Cor that I could run segments with, it's just that I lost all my macros & scripts for it recently. Have been dragging my heels on rebuilding it. Only just rebuilt all the dnc stuff and enjoying it atm.

Hello, just wondering at what level of augmentation does Nyame Mail surpass Meghanada Cuirie +2 as a body piece for Rudra?

How much Dual Wield does DNC need to cap delay with Terpsichore?
By Nariont 2025-09-21 11:53:17
The same as any other dagger, this isn't martial arts, dual wield cheat sheet works the same regardless of weapon combo

Slowly learning all the neat little quirks about DNC, and loving every minute about it. Something I'm scratching my head about though. Is there any way to solo a Light SC with DNC? I don't see any straight SC combos for DNC that do it, unless I'm missing something.
I was looking into Wild Flourish though. If the Chainbound LVL. 1 effect starts as any of these SC propperties on this page,
https://www.bg-wiki.com/ffxi/Chainbound_(Status)
could DNC possibly solo Light with Wild Flourish(Liquifaction) > Ruthless Stroke(Fusion) > Extenterator(Light)?
I don't have a Mpu Gandring, as my DNC is pretty much fresh out of the box, so I have no way to test.
Anyone know if that combo would work? Or if there is an easier way to solo Light SC that I am missing?

Fusion> + frag = light

Yes. Also can use fast blade II (fusion) to make light if you have onion sword III.

So Mpu Gandring or Mog Bonanza is the only way to do it. Man, pushing the limits there.
