I'm curious which stat(s) make you strongly support it.

-acc, atk, PDL
+STR, PDT, crit rate, triple attack

And to clarify even further, which WS(s) are we talking about here?

I'm really struggling to see how STR, crit rate, and TA are the stats you want to prioritize for Rudra's Storm, Ruthless Stroke, or their ilk. I could definitely see it for Evis, PK, but those have entirely different sets and don't disqualify empy legs since...you know...you're still gonna use Rudra's and Ruthless...


So...you have a PDL toggle and you think it's worth putting on (and carrying) PDL gear, but when it comes to this specific piece, it's not worth it because "the mob is melting"? How much melting is enough, and how much is too much melting?

So I'm not sure it's the PDT, unless that's more valuable than the defensive stats on nyame hands. They could be different sets, but I'm getting whiplash trying to figure out what the winning stat is for gleti legs.

Mostly the fact that it's Multi-job and the difference with Maculele+3 doesn't seem big enough to justify one more inventory slot for a single job, for a stat (PDL) that in itself is already niche and only useable under specific circumstances.
That's just my personal view of course, YMMV.

I don’t use gearswap, and I never have. I have no luas, no toggles, or anything of the sort. I’ve always played with console equip commands and in game equip sets. That’s enough to mimic most of gearswsp’s functionality, without having to deal with the hassle of luas not working the way I want them. I could easily add a separate gear set for full pdl to my weaponskill and swap it as needed in game. It’s easy enough to do with simple naming conventions. I do it with accuracy and hybrids that are more defensive than others, or my rangers snapshot level for various flurry buffs. But in this case I genuinely don’t think it’s worth the hassle. I don’t expect to be capped on attack in sortie, which is my primary event I bring dancer to nowadays. And I don’t care enough about farming trash mobs slightly faster (we’re talking kill speed differences you won’t even notice) to have a pdl weaponskill set just for them.

Do I think the legs are a bad piece? No. But they aren’t a tp piece, that’s gletis. So they’re only applicable to attack capped rudras or ruthless fights, and whenever I’m capped on attack my nyame legs are far more than sufficient. So I just don’t bother with the empyrean legs. Personal preference, but they fill the same role as nyame, and nyame is universally excellent. Of all the Jse you may consider bringing with you, they are the most niche of them all. Its perfectly fine if you want yo bring them. I just pass on it for my uses is all.

With +94 dagger accuracy they are the highest accuracy legs, so they should be in your highest accuracy tp set, so they kinda are a tp piece.

I certainly can respect that as it's how I play as well, and I would never suggest that people put 400 different toggles in their gameplay. That said, for DNC I think having a PDL swap is quite beneficial, especially since you are bringing strong DEF down to the fight. I often find myself preferring PDL in my WS sets, so it's one of the very few jobs I have alternate PDL sets for. In my case, all the macros are mirrored and the WS set is just changed, and for my PDL Ruthless/Rudra's set, I use the empy legs.

I don't think it's make or break, but I think it's worthy of a slot in your wardrobe if you're taking DNC seriously since it is (IMO) the BIS piece for that situation and (IMO) DNC will often find itself looking for PDL.

I actually use my PDL toggled set for the majority of my Sortie runs. I'm not 100% certain we're highly over attack cap, but with fury, frailty, chaos, minuets, dia 3, light shot, box step, i think it's more likely than not.

Your points are all valid. I've edited the post to include the empyrean legs as well and mentioned both uses. The high accuracy tp piece simon mentioned is reason alone enough to have them.

Anyone have a fully decked out dnc that can share your tp/ws/ja gear sets? Something updated that I can build towards?

Thank you, ill check, but tbh, i think we are all pretty much adults now and feel the same about not reading 40 pages to find some off beat set, maybe someone just had a lua or somthing they share sometimes we can see what they use for gear. I advise you to do that first for any job. The job pages on BG usually have a section at the bottom dedicated to that - Mind you, these are user-created, and some people might not have updated them in a while. Might not have everything but its a "feather step" in the right direction

I think anybody requesting best sets these days really need to understand that their results are gonna vary by how far they are in oddessy.

I think a better question for these purposes is what responds to wsd and what doesn't.

The one NOT being an 'adult' is the lazy bum who wants people cater to them to facilitate a ridiculous level of laziness. an 'adult' should be more willing to read 40 pages if needed than less likely.

It is not some 'niche set' you asked for. you asked for the bread and butter sets tp/ws/ja and gee... read the first page.

Well to be fair they were asking for updated sets and page 1 does not have that except like one or two.

Check page 42. Melliny posted a couple of their sets after I asked if I could have a look. Pretty decked out sets for TP & WS, though they are their personal sets. Everyone's gonna be slightly different, but it's good to have a look at to get an idea of stuff to shoot for. I found it helpful.

Edit: One more thing, when I'm checking here for sets I usually start at the latest page and skim read back.

Started leveling DNC and having a lot of fun. I was looking up dagger options was wondering how they all compare, and which would be the best investment to go for. Twashtar, Setan Kober, and Terpsichore all look like neat options for it, but how do they actually compare? I'm using a Tauret/Air Knife atm until I can get something better.

How well do they work in 2025 still?

Those weapons are a decade old and work now the same as they did.

Differences are:
* Setan is mostly used for flourish recast reduction during zergs, I think
* Twashtar benefits much more than Terpsi from augmented Nyame gear, but if you don't have that then it doesn't affect the math.
* Terpsi is fun and probably benefits more from Air Knife (you may use Centovente offhand with Twash), but maintaining AM3 is annoying.

If I was getting one of those three today, it would be Twashtar

Do any of the null pieces find a permanent spot in any of dnc's sets? Or only as situational acc swaps? I guess good to own, to have options when building your sets.

I can see the argument either way, but I personally use null shawl for my TP set. I don't use any of the rest but they could work in a step set if you're doing that (I don't bother).

Belt for idle regen if you're into that kinda thing

Yeah, I'm using the belt in idle, and for a couple other sets. Other pieces I haven't used yet on dnc. But I have on thf for my eva Gandring aoelian omen farm set. I haven't got the neck yet though.

They are in my steps set and my Violent Flourish set, as well as my FUllACC sets. Belt is in my idle set, neck is my regular engaged set (though DNC neck +2 or combatant's is fine too), and back is in my Attack Cap set.

Violent Flourish is the best use for them on DNC. We gained a ton of MAcc/Acc for it with that release. I keep meaning to run around seeing what I can stun but haven't gotten it done yet.

the in game description on violent flourish always confused me. byproduct of an age before we were swimming in macc? wiki doesn't indicate any actual penalty.

I am unaware of any rigorous tests of its magic accuracy. My impression is that it is less magically accurate than the Stun spell, which has +200 Macc and maybe multiple resist states.

I don't know what the description means. The proc rate is clearly 100%. If something is about my level and not thunder or earth aligned I have always been able to reliably stun it with VF. With all the MAcc gear we have now, I would be a bit surprised if it was less reliable than Head Butt, accepting that for a long time BLU got access to much more MAcc gear than DNC.

My guess is that it has two resist states (10% proc rate floor) and a neutral or modest Macc boost.

Could squeeze another 15 MAcc out of the main weapon slot by going to Setan Kober, but you lose dagger skill and Macc skill and I don't think that is worth it. Mpu is really good for MAcc.

I messed around in Ambuscade doing my weekly quests just now and missed one stun on the regular VD NM and the main Gigas appeared to be unstunnable (at least by me). Hard to tell if they're just immune or what.

Been back about 3 weeks from a 3 or 4 year break. Have been running around in sortie solo. Getting my bearings and doing the ground floor objectives while killing the 4 minor NMs. Can dnc solo any of the lower major NMs, like Ghatjot for example. Has anyone done any soloing on dnc in there, any advice or tips?

Who updates these guides? I assume only the author can (unlike BGWiki)?

Hello, is anyone rocking a dnc TP set that is also DT capped, I'd like to have a look. I'd like to look at ppl's survive TP sets, stuff you wear on dnc to tp in sortie or v25's ect.

Was also wondering about ppl's earring selections for their TP sets. I have Sherida locked in one slot, but unsure on the other. I've switched back and forth between Balder +1, Telos, Dedition ect. I don't have a Maculele +2, and my +1 isn't anything special.
