Still not quite sure why people are bashing Mueller, he did his job and was impartial. He didn't want to be used as the symbol for dems to start impeachment proceedings. If the political system is broken it's clearly not his fault.

Republicans were bashing him for not investigating Clinton ... It was clearly not his job ...

Also he isn't a politician, he's clearly not a good orator, like most of us. Its vicious to attack him for that.

Well, some of the things that he said were out of his purview were clearly in his purview if he wanted them to be. Some of his indictments had nothing to do with Russian interference and didn't even fit the timeline, while other pertinent issues that could have been damaging to Democrats were blatantly ignored. I honestly don't think he had a real grip on what was actually going on with his investigation.

I agree with this, it was the Democrat lawyers who were really running the show. Mueller was likely just being briefed on what was going on and had a general supervisory role. It's how CNN knew to be at Roger Stones house before the FBI got there and how they seemed to always know what was going on inside the investigation.

Basically the Democrats ran the investigation and were using the FBI as a political weapon. Those running the FBI knew this was happening, but being career politicians with a lot to loose from pissing the Democrats off they let it continue.

Something everyone here needs to realize is that Washington DC is covered in Democrats. And I mean that as in literally almost everyone working in that area is a Democrat. Conservatives have an uphill battle to be hired onto anything public sector out here.

But at the same time, republicans were complaining the investigation was taking too long and costing too much ... they had to limit the scope to what the core of the investigation was about.

I'd say this is funny, but I think you're being serious.

Russia targeted all 50 states in 2016 election hacking campaign, Senate report confirms
"America is facing a direct assault on the heart of our democracy," one lawmaker said.

Think progress

But as long as they are intervening for Republicans, Mitch McConnell, like Trump, is all for it.

You must understand they do not favor Republicans because they think Republican rule is good for America.

In 2016, Russia targeted the U.S. with hacking in all 50 states and there was no evidence that even one vote was changed as a result.

In 2020, the Democrats and Media will target all 50 states with complaints of 2016 Russian hacking and there will be no evidence that even one vote was changed as a result.

Its fun to watch them squander this entire saga. They’re making Trump more popular day after day.

This whole premise is entirely ***.

Russia interfered for democrats as well as the republicans. This is known. They interfere constantly in our elections. And as the special counsel said quite clearly, no votes were changed, and no Americans were implicated.

As Obama said the idea that one COULD rig an election in this way is fantasy.

Dems are just drugging you some more to wring more fundraising cash out of you. This investigation is done, and the only ones that want more of it are the people who STILL can’t cope with losing 2016

Mitch McConnell is right. Secure, open elections would elect more Democrats.
(attribution is difficult Reuters > WaPo > MSN)

Quote:
...
Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) had tried to get consent Thursday to pass a House bill that requires the use of paper ballots and includes funding for the Election Assistance Commission. It passed the House 225-184 with [one] Republican voting for it.

But McConnell objected, saying Schumer was trying to pass “partisan legislation.”

“Clearly this request is not a serious effort to make a law. Clearly something so partisan that it only received one single solitary Republican vote in the House is not going to travel through the Senate by unanimous consent,” McConnell said.

Guess what: McConnell is right! Legislation to secure our elections is partisan. And the fact that it’s partisan shows just how pathological the Republican Party has become in its determination to hold on to power.

So here are some things that, in our system today, are “partisan” in the sense that if we were to do them they would advantage the Democratic Party over the Republican Party:

Securing our voting systems from foreign hacking
Allowing every American to vote
Making it as easy as possible for Americans to vote
Ensuring that all votes count equally

Now consider what it says about your party if doing those things would make it much more likely that you’d lose....

Yeah, the Democrats care so much about secure elections. That's why they freak out when anyone tries to enact legislation that requires you to, you know, prove who you are.

And just like that the democrats defended white supremacist child murderers.

There certainly won't be any direct funding for the wall, which would mean he would have to declare a fake emergency again, and considering how his first maneuver is still blocked by the courts 6 months later, I wouldn't expect it.

Remember when Vic posted this 3 days ago? Pepperidge Farm remembers.
