I just hope that Hover-shot isn't a 10% DPS nerf for standing still, and a +10% boost while moving between each shot. Knowing SE, this is probably the case.
The goal is no penalty for standing still. +10 DPS for moving. Its literally a penalty for multiboxers.
SE spends more time/brainpower on "how to beat multiboxers" than they do on "quality of content"
I understand you, but SE rarely gives something without taking away something else, especially when the change isn't super necessary. Ranger doesn't need any changes, but if chooses this change to combat multi boxers, they incentivize us with more DPS while moving. They could decentivize multiboxers with a drop in DPS, but lol, that's questionable.
Coming to a launcher near you, a new addon that wiggles your character back and forth between ranged attacks.
If anything, this would end up being a multibox buff because theyll just happily automate it out, where manual players could potentially just find it excessively annoying.

Perfect Hover shot presentation. First shot, running, couple shot and that subtle quick step forward before last shot (probably for both Hover Shot boost and moving into True Shot distance). Perfection ;)
It would be interesting if they gave RNG an identical damage bonus that DRG gets from their WSD traits. And then make Double/Triple Shot procs count towards the bonus stacks, so you may not need to move around forever to get the capped bonus.
Literally if they aren’t going to buff Bow WS RNG doesn’t need To be touched. If anything they need to stop favoring cor and give rng a double light endgame event.
I never get on rng and think omg this is a weak job(beside dyna and it’s oppressive double dark weather). I don’t have high hopes for hover shot either especially if it makes you move around between shots. I’d rather a daken ability instead of anything.
75-era weapons with +crit rate only apply to that particular weapon. You want to use something more recent, such as Oneiros knife or Gleti's. I can't think of anything that would be better than Oneiros knife for Gandiva unless you need additional accuracy.
oh really !? wow ok I didn't know that, is there any testing that has been done for this ? not that I don't believe you, it's just the first time I hear this.
ok I can confirm I've just tested this now shooting 50 arrows with and without the Jupiter's Staff, and I got 31/50 crits with and 32/50 crits without.

This wasn't really needed a test, but even assuming you wanted to confirm it, 50 shots is not enough to test that.

I'm not aware of any testing on gleti's knife to determine if the crit rate affected ranged attacks. If it does then gleti's is probably better than oneiros, since you get 15 dex and 15 agi on top of the 5% crit rate. But that's all contingent on the crit actually working with ranged.

Well a supposedly increase of 15% crit chance with the staff would have given me about 7-8 crit hits difference on 50 shots. So seeing that I only had 1 crit difference I was pretty positive the staff wasn't affecting my range attacks

Which means 4 crits difference would make it impossible to tell and 4 crits difference can easily randomly happen on 50 hits even if crit rate is the same (not 100% or 0%)
Very quick eyeball math has him within what 2 standard deviations on his 'test'? 3 is the common cutoff for outliers right? It's been a while since I've had to actually use that one stat course but within 3 is still 'uncommon but could happen nothing weird here' territory.

Simon some times you just have to stop trying to be right all the time. it's not because you like spreadsheets and you have a calculator as avatar that you're good at math. Just chill for once.

Him being right in this case isn't something to call him out for.
