I don't like how the Boston fans treat opposing black players, its absurd, and the team has done very little to stop it.

I just picture in Boston acting exactly like Gronk a big dumb jock going around pounding Coors Light and using the word bro a lot...all without the least bit of self awareness....almost straight out of the College Comedy movie stereotype...a man child that never grew up.

I took my first trip to Fenway last year, went to two games two nights in a row against the Blue Jays. Was pretty jarring how aggressive the fans are tbh, two guys sitting behind me got escorted out by security for cussing out and harassing Jose Bautista. I have a pic of Joey Bats laughing and waving back at them from the dugout somewhere around here.

Was a blast though, Yawkey Way's fun as hell.

100,000 U.S. Christian Churches Demand Withdrawal of Kavanaugh's Supreme Court Nomination
Fortune

Quote:
A group representing 100,000 congregations and 45 million churchgoers across an array of Christian denominations in the U.S. has called for the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh to be withdrawn.

The National Council of Churches statement said, “Judge Kavanaugh exhibited extreme partisan bias and disrespect towards certain members of the committee and thereby demonstrated that he possesses neither the temperament nor the character essential for a member of the highest court in our nation.” The statement also alleged misstatements and “outright falsehoods” in his testimony.

A later addition to the statement, as reported by the Religious News Service, added a call for a full and “unhindered investigation into allegations of sexual assault.”...

Aren't you and others all calling for separation of church and state? Now you want church to intervene in government and dictate who is appointed where?

Come on libs you cannot have it both ways.

I think the word "like" used about 30 times in a one sentence is far more reprehensible than bro. Bro I kinda get the self referential fun of it.

I bet Brett was a bro back in high school. Johnny football taking little Susie to the prom. Then studying Constitutional Law. Pretty much like my high school experience.

Odd but true.

Manhattan clam chowder is illegal in Boston. They actually passed a law somewhen about 1960 that makes it illegal to serve clams and tomatoes in the same dish.

Looking at polls, it looks like Kavanaugh is only popular with men by a small margin, he loses elsewhere.

Also, it's not truly an investigation if the FBI wasn't allowed to or simply didn't interview the accusers, the accused, those who can defend either one in person and gauge whether they are lying.

Republicans could have possibly scored a home run, grand slam, touchdown, whatever you want to call it, but they didn't even get off the bench after warm ups. They didn't risk a gamble, which implies they don't have faith in Kavanaugh themselves.

The right needs better leaders, if Kavanaugh gets confirmed, there will always be doubt about him which Republicans didn't do much of anything to help.

Ben Sasse said as much last night when he laid into Trump and Kavanaugh. Of course his words don't mean anything if he votes for the guy.

And yes it did its job. Its not a criminals investigation because no crime was reported. They interviewed the people Ford mentioned in her under oath testimony and found no corroboration for her testimony. Same for the other accuser. Without corroboration the allegation can not be substantiated and no further investigation is done.

Not being a Democrat isn't a crime, no matter how hard liberal's push it to be.

Kavanaugh will more than likely be confirmed, what I'm curious about is what kind of *** Dems will attempt whenever they take control again.

I don't know if a SCJ has ever been impeached but I saw someone mention the option. That would require the following:

-Dems take Senate majority.
-Dems take the White House.
-Dems open a new FBI probe after accomplishing the previous two.
-A definite crime uncovered by said probe but within statute of limitations.

All Kavanaugh has to do is keep his head down, do his job, and do his job in a nonpartisan manner, this would turn such attempts into a very risky move for Dems and would set a dangerous precedent.

The only thing I can think of an FBI probe finding that is within the statute of limitations would possibly be perjury and probably on a technicality.

All that said, while I expect Kavanaugh to be confirmed, I don't think he should be due to his conduct and temperament.

Yah, you have a great point. Yes Judges should behave themselves well. But his opposition targeted not his Judging capabilities in ruling on law, but a very personal thing and attacked with full force. Destroying his name. One senator even hid an allegation, gave them a lawyer, got them Polygraphed, and didn't mention it to his face in private or public.

So put yourself in his seat, don't you think you'd be pissed about such allegations ONLY now showing up at the Cusp of your elevation to SCJ?

You're right, he should have been better, but can't blame the guy.

Now if he start throwing gavels while a SCJ and such, I owe you a Coke.

In his accusations, he was accused of being violent and belligerent, his actions during the hearing didn't help disprove them.
