Put it up before I did the math and was just like yay easy drop. That said didn't you have to be really close for it to be good? Also it's not BiS with double weather
Oh corsair is a different story since it's one of the few that regularly use affinity. For LS assuming pixie+1 and archon elemental obi wins at single weather + day.
But yes this is easier to use and lets cut the cord with your local sch
Well, Hachirin only wins with day+weather or double weather. If the COR at any point doesn't benefit from Darksday or having a main SCH along, the new belt will reduce the difference to 400-500ish damage or less rather than the huge gap you had previously.

According to my quick math posted yesterday, for leaden salute, 15 affinity beats single weather obi (10%) but not double.
Set used are same as what I have atm, so pixie+1/Archon was on for 33 more affinity.
The math shows same result as Aerix's nuke test in game, double weather obi > 15 affinity > single weather obi.
If someone else have different result let me know.

So for those who need the tl;dr version of even 9 lines: if you have a SCH in party, stick with obi, otherwise use new belt at close range?
Well also depends if by win we are talking about mean, medium or mode averages. I was doing math for mean but quick results will most likely show you mode. Just using relevant multipliers of affinity, day/weather bonus and proc rate assuming 33% regular proc rate to show some work at the close to breaking points in different situations
Note day + single weather with twilight cape will have the same results as double weather no day... however it is swapping another piece so it's a bit more complicated and sash without cape swap might still beat obi with cape swap but that will need a lot more math and gear sets and *** it easier to just keep on using sash in that case
Did Mar's Orb solo on RUN/WHM. In full DT set with Reraise on and the typical buffs (Phalanx, Stoneskin, Lux x3, Valliance, Protect 4, Shell 5) the Chest only did 45 damage with the Ka-thwack. My reraise was wiped when he used it. He then proceeded to hit me for next to nothing, with over half his attacked getting parried. At 99% he proceeded to cast Death and one-shot me. Fun.
I had opened 5 chests, but no thuds. So I pressed on until death or a thud.
I would enjoy this a ton more if we figured out a way to kill this chest. Has anyone made progress? I was just using my free Mars Orb to clear inventory.
Managed to get it to about 56% rdm addle2 to slow casting of death and light shot from cor to stop it completely from going off. Sleep works as well in a pinch. Kept seeing red !! No idea what it did but seemed to happen randomly. Sometimes his evasion was nothing and sometimes I couldn’t hit it for ***.
I would think that the chest is simply near-impossible to beat, with no gimmicks involved (i.e. no proc system, etc). I.e. I don't think the majority of players were meant to defeat the mimic. Otherwise, people would eventually find the weakness and spam this event with mules granting access to 5 non-mules. The drops seem too good to allow for such "high" frequency if the mimic were to be easily vanquished due to some hidden-but-now-known weakness.
