Oh, BTW Trump can kiss the concept of a Nobel peace prize goodby.

Quote:
"What is happening at the (U.S.-Mexico) border where he (Trump) is separating children from their parents is a sign that he is no longer the moral leader of his country or the world," the Council of Europe's secretary general, Thorbjorn Jagland, told Norwegian broadcaster TV2....

Jagland is also one of the five members of the Norwegian Nobel Committee, which annually awards the Nobel Peace Prize....

Watch Chuck Schumer. He refuses to touch the issue. The Democrat mantra of "never let a good crisis go to waste" overwhelms his desire to actually fix the problem.
Pray tell, why should the democrats help the republicans out of a hole they have dug for themselves?

And were the shoes on the other feet, the republicans would hold hearings to assign the blame.

Benghazi....

Yep, Trump can and ultimately will easily fix this crisis of separating children from their parents. Congress doesn't need to do anything, this has nothing to do with them.

The cognitive dissonance here is astounding. Dude, process an original thought every now and then. I know you have it in you.

Are you *** serious? This is entirely the creation of the president and his AG and the talking points is now why won't the Democrats fix this? It can be fixed at any moment by the same people who did it.

It doesn't need any other entity. No outside force. Nothing else but them. Kiddie internment camps aren't a *** bargaining chip to start a debate on immigration policy.

You have nothing to say. Trump created a humanitarian crisis and tried to blame the Dems. It totally failed. Now he is having to reverse course, and your trying to pathetically blame Dems. And guess what? Its also failing.

If you want to try to blame Congress, who did not create this crisis, then you can only blame one party, the majority. How long has the GOP had the House? They haven't passed a single piece of immigration legislation in that entire time. Get ready to watch them fail tomorrow. I would try to say to process an original thought, but I know you can't. Its just BUT OBAMA!!!

What you and Vic clearly fail to realize (and/or conveniently ignore for political gain) is that the issue is far more complex than just this policy. Immigration as a whole is broken, and you guys don't want to do anything to fix it. And don't even pretend that this would be over if Trump rescinded the policy. You need something to replace the failing Mueller probe in an election year.

We need the zero-tolerance policy, and we need to fix previous laws that force our hand on the associated detainment procedures. That requires Congressional input.

Please, they are NOT "internment" camps. They are concentration camps.

Quote:
Concentration camp, internment centre for political prisoners and members of national or minority groups who are confined for reasons of state security, exploitation, or punishment, usually by executive decree or military order. Persons are placed in such camps often on the basis of identification with a particular ethnic or political group rather than as individuals and without benefit either of indictment or fair trial.

No, this humanitarian crisis is not "far more complex." Its very simple, as it is less than a month old. It should never have happened, but Trump wanted to separate the children in order to discourage illegal immigration. And of course, it blew up in his face, and did nothing to deter it.

The last time the Dems had an opportunity to pass immigration reform, they succeeded. The GOP failed, and they are still failing.

And the successful Mueller probe is still going strong, and Dems cannot wait for the election.

President Trump's position has always been immigration legislation is a Congressional issue and Congress needs to fix if if they feel it is broken. As the Executive head his job is to execute the law as written. This is why he didn't extend DACA, that was a policy from a former President that instructed DHS to not follow the law and to look the other way. Current legislation as written follows the same set of rules as law enforcement, juveniles are held separately while in detention. If CBS catch's a family of five illegally entering the country, they will hold the adults in one detention facility while placing the children in different set of rooms. Same reason why males and females are placed in different locations.

Basically the USA doesn't like to place children in federal prison and that's exactly what an ICE detention center is. Normally law enforcement would place juveniles in the care of the nearest family member or in a foster home if a suitable family member can't be located. ICE can't exactly do that, so they end up in a weird position of splitting families apart with a special children's wing.

Ideally the answer would be a sort of "family unit" cell where the family would be housed together, not sure how practical that is though considering the adults are violating US Federal law.

I feel bad for the kids cause children shouldn't have to pay for the mistakes of their parents.

So the solution was to break that system even more by putting children in detainment camps to have more leverage when trying to have a bi-partisan deal? That's *** up.

There are way worse things happening to countless numbers of exploited children who attempt to cross the border on a regular basis. I'll take some upset kids over the unconscious support of human trafficking (and worse) any day.

They fantasizing like always, so they would actually have something to be angry about.

Those children are being held in a jail, the same as their parents. It's a bigish room with multiple bunks that's been gender segregated.

This is how children are being kept

Them separating the children are just them trying not to put them through a purely jail like experience, though it's still a damn jail.

Well you obviously don't have kids. Taking little kids away from their parents for an hour would upset them. These kids have been locked up now for over a month? Not all of them are teens, they are 6 and 7 year olds, some of them are babies, separated from their families. That's way beyond your pathetic label of "upset." That's traumatizing, whats gonna happen to your failing damage control if one of these kids dies under the gov'ts watch?

Simple non-leading question. Says plenty that you won't answer.

Since you're probably going to keep evading, a zero tolerance policy isn't incompatible with keeping families together. It would just require more resources for facilities that can accommodate families. The immediate crisis isn't the enormously complex issue you need it to be to maintain your contrary position and it's entirely within the power of the executive to fix.

What is happening right now is inhumane for the sake of being inhumane. Doesn't need to be happening and is definitely not the starting point for negotiation.
