I love all the new on topic suggestions and i'm not going to name any certain names who want to highlight "no one cares" from their posts. If that were the case they'd not replied and tried to insinuate *** =) But then again to have to show cleavage on a pic to get attention already speaks thousands of words =) So no hoe's opinion really matters =) Enjoy that "childish" remark. THis post can be closed whenever before more emos come to reply =) Snowflake galore already taking over ffxi more than elitists :D take the game away :D what is left bitter old virgins who can only go back to watching their porn.
Life lesson =) beauty fades ladies and that beer belly will eventually pop out for the gentleman. Dumb is forever. Dully take note of it.

Can some one please fix this site, as we've seen here, a broken site promotes hostile discussions and immature attitudes even more so than regular. Simple really.

Not to mention curent rank system only tells how much money\time you pour into your character. It haz very little to do with skill. Another valid point

GW is up again. Our hosting provider has had a rolling set of reboots to apply patches for Spectre and Meltdown, and any time one piece falls over, they all do.

I think to truly capture it all would encompass:
Titles(Covers almost everything)
RoEs (Covers some content, levels and fame)
Key Items (Including mounts/maps/abysscite etc.)
Quests Completed
All skills capped / magic learned (Including trusts.)
Crafts Capped
It's fun to map everything out. I do hope this site gets fixed at some point.
Don't hold your breath. I have messages and emails from Rooks over the past 2 years where he refuses to ask Scragg to give me access to the code to help fix these features. I've offered my time and support about a half-dozen times for free and I can't even get a reply from Scraggs. Rooks won't ask him on my behalf either.
The only way anything is getting fixed is if Rooks does it himself ...and at this rate, none of his solutions appear to be permanent fixes.
Edit: It's their prerogative to decide gets access to the code and if Rooks even wants outside help. However, as a result, the user experience continues to suffer...and that makes me really upset.

Draken,
A rolling restart due to spectre/meltdown patches is a band-aid, a semi-permanent solution. I would devote time to more permanent fixes like (a) removing the need to restart the damn thing every 2-3 months and (b) replacing guildwork with a new ashita/windower plugin that sends your character data from the FFXI client directly; (c) Fix the ability to upload screenshots.
The list goes on. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate what Rooks does, but it took 5 days from this posting to get a response from Rooks to restart a service? That's a long time in my opinion, and if there user experience were to improve, additional operational support is needed.

I actually am testing a fix for the AH connection, which is partly https and partly that AH and GW have LSCOM remnants hiding in the damnedest places
There's about five or six separate problems, and I didn't do the https change, so I don't know what that broke and what's just broken because of sunspots or yeti attacks or daylight savings time
It's their prerogative to decide gets access to the code and if Rooks even wants outside help
You don't listen to a *** word I say
It's not "their" prerogative - it's Scragg's. Singular. I don't get a vote. I don't know how many times I have to say this, but this is like number twelve and at this point I assume it's just performance art on your part
A rolling restart due to spectre/meltdown patches is a band-aid
Again, this is the hosting provider's doing, I find out about it the same time everyone else does. They reboot our ***all the time for various reasons, and GW doesn't recover from it the same way AH does. That's in part because AH is just a simpler setup, and in part because it was built a little more robustly in the first place.

You can attach any emotional entanglements to this situation that makes you feel justified. You're entitled to that.
You might not care but there are plenty of open-source, free software solutions that make manual intervention unnecessary. (Saltstack, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, a simple bash script...etc etc).
However, the fact of the matter is that the user experience is deteriorating and it doesn't have to. In 2018, we should be able to upload a screenshot or link a new character without contacting a software engineer or maintainer of the site and waiting for manual intervention.

Members are supposed to feel sorry for you for wanting to help and being denied? You remind of those dudes that don’t get a hint:”maybe they’re aren't into you.”

To be blunt, the fact that Rooks got Admin, let alone repo and source access could be described as miraculous. It's pretty safe to say there most likely won't be anyone else getting Admin, source, or repo access. Scragg is very, VERY stingy with such things.
Rooks can't give source or repo. He isn't allowed to give Admin.
Please stop asking.

I'm not going to dignify Draken's comment with a response.
Rooks,
I appreciate the hardwork that you do and I sincerely hope, at some point that Scraggs is willing to give you a vote.
I understand your frustration and know that I come off as a little relentless, but this is the first time you've told me that you don't get a vote. All of our past conversations have resulted in "Ask Scraggs yourself" to which I get no reply from him. My goal here is not to upset anybody, but offer help and improve some of the features that folks have been asking for. (Also, Rooks, you seem very busy and shouldn't have to manually intervene for the smallest of technical issues). Just some food for thought. Best of luck.
Thanks again for the quick fix.

One down, thirtyish to go
I am very new and been off and on player for years. Last i recalled when asking for help from Arcon ages on on leviathan server when he introduced me to windower itself.
My guildwork problem is quite different as it is loading. My problem arises from my character being added by someone else and I'm only one who has had access to my account info and the login to both here and my mule Cashmoneygal. For some reason it has added my mule Cashmoneygal to my main's Cashymoneygal for guild work and "Cashymoneygal" is added by another user yet I cannot find who what where or how that is possible. Been looking for fix for countless months and last yr as well but no one was able to help.
