The SCH guide (and presumably the WHM guide) go into detail about healing and gear choices. Though maximizing your curing potential is important I find myself using Regen more than full-time healing. So, for that, maximize enhancing magic duration, regen duration, regen potency which will give you near 100HP tic (If I recall correctly) for 10-11 minutes. Good stuff.

Storm spells aren't one of the Arts. It is s set of 8 Enhancing Magic spells (16 later, once you get to 100 JPs, and get access to tier 2). Since Enhancing Magic falls on the "Light Magic" side of things, they can be enhanced by your Light Arts job abilities. Mainly Accession, which makes the spell AoE for your party, and Perpetuance, which makes the duration longer.
