The game had you spending anywhere between 2 to 11 hours (unlucky 7th window pops for all 3) a day camping kings

I'm referring to after the end of that era. Aht Ughan was peak challenge and enoyability, and self paced.

Did you disable your post count because someone called you out?

Anyways If you're unhappy just move on, simple as.

1. No.
2. I have decided not to play FFXI until there is worthy content. Already said that several pages ago.

FF3 3D remake is pretty good but I am at the last dungeon and might need to grind 10 levels to beat it and it has put me off. I'm getting too old and impatient.

XI is now like crack and it used to be like fentanyl.

Still addictive and grindy AF. Just not that addictive and grindy.

And if you weren't down for it, or available for it, then you weren't going to be in endgame. Full stop. (At least not any endgame shell that was actually going to get you drops.)

. That whole design was just stupid, I don't know how they thought that was going to end up being anything other than a dramafest.

I think it worked well in jp communities, but could just be the fact you barely saw it vs all of the drama on the non-jp side.

I played in an NA shell back then, but I had some friends in "rival" JP shells. They also had a ton of drama, but it wouldn't often make its way to forums. And they tended to handle internal drama differently than NA shells, so it didn't boil over into a public mess the way ours did. Frankly, I liked the public mess. It kept things entertaining, and there were plenty of great in-jokes and hilarious moments that ensued. Most of us were really petty and childish (I mean, come on, we were like 17-24 years old!), but I wouldn't change a thing about it. I also wouldn't go back and do it again!

Not to mention the various hours just spent camping normal NMs. Fending off RMTs for Okotes. Kids these days dont understand the patience it took to camp nearly anything worthwhile that wasn't a Relic
