I struggle to believe there are many "new players" as in that have started since Asura closed. I did see what seems like a relatively new player accidentally casually talk in party chat about buying gil the other day though, like it's normal. It was something like "I haven't spent any money on gil yet this month" "I spend $300 last month"

Also your entire post supports what I said, which apparently is dumb, except it is fact as you have outlined.

There aren't "many" new players, just enough to influence movement.

Watch the subreddit, there's a daily "i'm new" post. 1 > 0

That entire post replies consist of "go to bahamut go to bahamut go to bahamut" It's doomed.

Look there's the Asura crowd then there's everyone else.

What's "normal" for Asurans is *** insane for literally everyone else.

You would know this if you didn't spend your entire gametime on a shithole rat infested sewer of a server.

As far as gil moving is concerned, most of that is RMT moving their bank accounts around. Now they can't go to Asura, they just move to the next highest populated server.

Same with actual people moving mules to buy/sell.

Simple economy. Where there is demand, the market moves in to meet it. No demand, no market.

There are occasional RMT shouts on small servers. The pickup rate is laughably small.

i.e. let Mogolophones generate every 20 hours, but let us stack more than 1. This balances how much one can ultimately grind out, but makes it more accessible for both solo, and easier to find parties.

They don't want to do this because it leads to generally higher queue times on populated servers. People tend to stack their runs back to back. It's not so convenient to have extra KI if you're waiting 30-40 mins between runs... worth?

The RMT merc shouts on Bahamut have blown up all over the place. To just one guy named Denny to at least 7 to 8 more accounts *** spamming it up. It's annoying.

Remove the ability to yell from stationary lv1 bots

Closing Asura has ruined Bahamut. The player count has nearly doubled in the last month and a good portion of these accounts are rmt bots. More players are turning off the yell channel and finding pick up groups are becoming more difficult due to the unrelenting toxic mercenary and rmt advertisement.

The filter is... usable. It needs more slots.

I would also state, but never say, "it needs to be easier to use" too many people don't know it exists or how to use it. But if they knew how, it would stop working.

i love the filter. Havent seen a single rmt shout for weeks now. Ones you get the words right its awesome.

And true on the use. Its hell to get right. Very case sensitive. Even on the base txt file.

Yep, the daily posts over there like this are incredibly annoying. "YOYO I'M NEW WHAT'S THE BEST SERVER FOR FRENS?!"

Peeing all over those posts is useless, their minds are already made up before posting on Reddit. Posts like that mainly exist to collect good guy badges, "OH LOOK HOW AMAZING OUR COMMUNITY IS," right next to the landfill and poisoned well from all garbage collecting on the beaches in Cape Terrigan.

I left Asura for Bahamut in 2022 for somewhere more quiet. Bahamut was a very nice place and tight knit. I still enjoy playing with the people I have met there over the last several years, but it's total chaos right now. Things have certainly changed, although I doubt real "new" players will stick around for long once they gaze into the abyss of endgame. I'm not getting my hopes up but here's hoping they close Bahamut, so everyone can jump ship to Odin, although I think the damage is already done. Their closure of Asura feels a bit unprecedented but maybe they've done something like this before in a different game as a method of discreet behavior modification. *shrug*

I'm assuming they have a lot of metrics that people engage more with campaigns in their first week causing them to do this silly split up campaign, soon weekly campaigns? The logical conclusion.

In the past I thought they were opting for shorter campaigns for those they deemed "too good" to be lasting the whole period of time, but now I'm a bit puzzled about it, honestly.

Can only assume they want 2 week blocks with some break inbetween for metrics reasons.

And then because vanabout is going to start the 6th, the have to do a short 2nd campaign.

But it's just asinine. Push bout back a week and do 2/1/2 or just run 3 full weeks.

I agree completely, it's ridiculous. Especially with body seals, it's a time saving ratio of 30:1 or more to get the kupons during campaign. Most other campaigns are somewhere between 1.2 and 3:1.

While it's inconvenient for people starting new chars, most veterans will plan ahead and get dozens or more kupons during the campaign to never have to farm abyssea slips anyway. If abyssea slip farming isn't part of the planned path for emp armor, make a permanent way to get the kupons. Maybe throw them in Ambuscade, idk.
