getting people to volunteer would need to be worth it. everyone is already where they want to be, pop wise. bump those 10% up some.
Eiryl's dumbass logic: "if you merge the smaller servers into 7-10k pop servers, people on Asura will leave"
And yet of all these people on Asura that "dont want to be on Asura", none of them are going to 9600 pop Odin or 11300 pop Bahamut. So merging all the smaller servers into 7-10k pop servers wont do a thing either. Shut the *** up.

I agree with the merge and i honestly don't understand why it hasn't happened yet.
Unless they have technical issues in doing it, i really don't see the point of having servers with few hundreds.(or maybe they don't remember how to do it lol) Free server transfers out of one server with high pop. won't work if there is no chance of going back. Either you like it or not, there are a lot of people using rmt services like sheol, aeonics, sortie runs or even omen bosses. And there are alot of people not botting exp either, so they pay 1m/hour and let others do the work. Do you know why they havent merged the smaller servers? It costs them next to nothing to run them. The mere risk of subscriptions lost from frustrated players being forced into server merges is a significantly greater cost than what it actually costs to have those extra VM's running for the smaller servers.
Its the same reason they only ban a handful of players every so often despite all the rampant TOS violations that go on.

Just make it possible to travel to and from servers at a whim
Asura's problems don't always have to affect everyone else. We already have our content gated differently because of it's congestion issues. Any adjustments made to correct this issue should really only impact Asura. They made that choice.

I want Rhazowa, Olzhirya, Zhwa, Tsahya Island and all the other places mentioned in FFXI lore but not released.
In fact we could get a whole storyline on meeting young Iroha, journeying together to these locations and becoming the master she says we are from RoV.

Either some Domain Invasion thing (there's Ouryu there after all) or they share a server with Al Zhabi for some reason and it was easier to turn the flag for both than trying to wrangle them separate. Or it's a typo.

While we can't rule out anything in a game as old as this, it doesn't make much sense.
Monarch Linn was added in CoP and Al Zahbi in ToAU. But yeah I guess "sense" doesn't always work in FFXI indeed. At first glance I would say they're planning to do something with Monarch Linn. DI-like or whatever else would be cool but it seems too good to be true, not sure if I want to believe that only to be disappointed when absolutely nothing happens. 72h pop claimed nm, drops a refresh+2 belt at 0.5% drop rate, needs full alliance
Keep hundreds of players playing for years for the rare shiny epeen I'd kill for a Bahamut HTMB
