It sounds like "it would be too much work to cut out the in-progress Limbus stuff next month" and it will take more than a month, so they're going "let's just disable the whole thing, not one uses it anyway".

That's.. an approach.

Closest we'll ever get to a FFXI version of WoW Cataclysm where they redesign old zones.

tbh, i would love to know what analytics they perform. the answer is probably somewhere in the realm of "none" but... they've gotta measure *something* right? right???

how many pieces of armor in the game have never been equipped by a character, ever.

who has equipped the most unique pieces of armor.

total number of human hours spent in cutscenes.

number of lvl 99 characters who've never completed an assault.

think of all the neat narratives you could form if you could query their server logs.

They have whatever the Moogle that comes back once a year has, so what, kills/deaths/parties/alliances/GM calls? I think that might literally be the entire list.

Honestly, I don't even think that's sarcasm. Obviously there's their automated "very large amounts of gil moving from player to player" alert for RMT bans, but I would believe you if you told me they didn't even look at the results there, just hit the BAN button.

Didn’t see this mentioned here but I got a giggle out of it so…

https://forum.square-enix.com/ffxi/forum.php#threads/48497?p=663892%23post663892

JP player said that zoning in and out of mog garden to get Ionis is bothersome/stressful so they’d like a way to apply Ionis from inside the garden. This of all things got a community rep response, saying they will investigate it (with no promises).

I saw it, and giggled for sure. But wasn't worth a mention.

I'd honestly love it if the craft bots could get ionis in the garden and stop crafting on top of the *** ionis npc.

Your link doesn't go there though, this does.

Shouldn't be crafting in the garden anyway. Adoulin offers the same bonuses but you can access the AH and trade with other players.

Unless for some reason you want to pick up rock salt while you're crafting or some ***.

That's so disappointing that out of all the posts to respond to, that's the one they choose...

I personally park a 2nd character with all my medals next to the goblin in Ru'Lude so I can exchange for exactly what I'm missing / lose on breaks and then send to my crafter in Mog Garden. It's tedious, but I hate being left with leftover mats. Though I guess you can just sell em on AH for a loss (on my server).

Maybe they really want to be next to a crystal withdrawal Moogle? Unless there's one in Adoulin I don't know about.

Garden also has access to all of your storages, so depending on how (dis)organized you are that can be beneficial. If you wanted to craft a bunch of something non-stackable, having more places to store it would help.

Probably the drops from the latest Master Trial.

Pretty sure it says, "I fought recolored Bahamut and all I got was this stupid subligar" on it.

For the Cloud of Darkness screenshot campaign, someone use their pic to show 1200 people in the sanctum at 7 est

Unless the drop rate was so stupid congestion is already gone.

Its still heavy during prime time but empty during the day. Soloers are the main issue.

Every screenshot contest reward has been "dogshit" cosmetic rewards (exception for the Well, which is a solid item that grants 80 storage, it wont make your character stronger though)

The Cloud Of Darkness screenshot campaign image looks like a PLD/RNG with a camera. In other news, the rewards completely suck and I told them so. I'd rather not waste my time for an umbrella or a crappy Byakko mask.

Would actually be neat if there was a camera-like animation for using the Soul Trapper. Hell, maybe there is one and I've never seen it because I'm always in first-person mode trying to be done with the accursed task asap.

now THAT would have been a cool choice of reward, in general making some of these older code-redeemable items available through campaigns like this would be a great way to drive engagement.

They'll get there, if for nothing else because they're running out of costume models to reuse. We got Spitewarden armor (Malignance), now we got ArkAngel armor (those dudes are ANCIENT), we even got the Yule Talisman recently. Eventually we'll get the decazoom and the escritorio.

February brings with it the addition of Cardians to the Macro Test feature

Anyone got a clue what this is about?

Also, the we are vana'diel site has a drop down by year, not sure when that was added and the site loads slow as *** so I didn't check much out, but pretty cool if you have lots of time to check it out. Goes all the way back to 2004.

Ambuscade seems to be this one?
