So I guess they changed it when only Sandy Divergence was out, before releasing Bastok Divergence.
I completely forgot about that but truth be said I didn't really focus much on Divergence until the second area was added.
So that must be why I forgot about this change.

It's mamajams for ambu but not 100% if it's the normal ones or the mages.

Most likely the normal ones but not bumping either thread so as to not get the wrong one.

Prime weapons onry?

Doesn't upset me much because I don't really care for cosmetics, but maybe a disappointment for those who aren't after weapons that wanted more content.

Even though they've alluded to being specifically for prime weapons, it remains to be seen if it's "only" for prime wielders.
And/or if you can enter with stage 3+
And/or they're unkillable without them.
And more than literally 12 people give a rats ***.

12 people wanting to do master trials is probably overly optimistic.

Even less than want to do them and are actually doing primes to stage 5 as well.

Funny when they say: try it after you finish your prime weapon.

Plot twist: once you have your stage 5 prime and beat all 5 master trials they plan to put in the game, you get a key item that lets you do more than 99999 damage for 15min per day.

I think Dankblade would have been fun, though maybe a bit too close to Darkblade.

No. Once you have a weapon at any stage, you cannot start that same one again.

Here is how.

Buy a Weapon Stage 1
Delete it but keep it in the recycle bin
Buy another Weapon Stage 1
Trade it with an Eikondrite and 10k Galli
While the weapon is being upgraded by the NPC in the next 1hr, restore the one in the Recycle bin.

There, now you have 2 weapons and you can upgrade them independently.

The patch notes heavily imply you can only undertake the new master trail with an equippable stage 5 prime. If that's the case then good luck getting a group together for that one. Very few people are going to have a stage 5 within the next year, much less a mage weapon. And I doubt you're gonna convince your friends to build a whm club instead of that scythe they're oogling just so you can have a healer on a fight that only rewards cosmetics. Hopefully it won't come to that but this is s-e we're talking about here. With the way they've designed content the past few years....yeah. It's probably that.

That's how I interpreted it. It sounds like they expect us to find 6 players each with an equippable stage 5 prime on the job they want to take into the fight. Talk about railroading us into pigeonholed options. Unless you can clear the fight with just the healing from the sycthe alone that forces people to build clubs for whm and geo, or guns if you ever want a cor, and forces the instrument upon bards. While a couple people may be willing to do that because they legit want those weapons for said jobs, the majority won't change their selection just to maybe fit into a group somebody might be able to put together if enough people cooperate 8 months down the line. And of course that assumes they'd be dedicated and capable enough to tackle the meso requirements from hard mode aminon.

The reward is just costmetics. That master trial is as good as DoA of it works that way.

I doubt you need the stage 5 to enter. For all the reasons you just listed.

No one is going to have a club for any reason for years.

I just expect something trashy like they're unkillable without prime weaponskills. And they'll think the hp is so high it cant be done without 3-4 stage 5's specifically but be "surprised" when that's not true.

Not to take away from your very valid point, but bard could just make the dagger… :P

or it could end being Title-related if part of the finished Stage 5 rewards a title. And the check could be as simple as confirming you've earned that title, not necessarily be wearing the weapon upon entry (like the Chaos Fight required).

But yeah, this is SE we're talking about. If it did end up requiring wearing stage 5 upon entry, that's almost catering to multiboxers who don't care if StevieWHM has to make the club so StevieDRK gets his scythe and then can do shineys.

I highly doubt this master trial requires the prime, and I think you're reading way too much into this.
