It can't be that the Puerto Rican government is ill-suited to handle such a crisis (and in many cases impeding efforts to get help), it has to be that Trump bad, something something golf
Late reply I know but I never said anything about the actual humanitarian response. Comments about the adequacy of it are varying so whether or not it will marked as botched or successfull will be fully worked out later on. What was needed at the time were some presidential words directed to those in crisis but you saw what they got. It was tactless and embarrassing and you very well know that.

The Onion said:
FAIRFAX, VA—In the aftermath of a shooting in Las Vegas that left at least 58 people dead and more than 500 wounded, National Rifle Association officials said Monday that mass shootings are just the unfortunate price of protecting people’s freedom to commit mass shootings. “What happened in Las Vegas is a horrific tragedy, but it’s sadly the inevitable cost of safeguarding the rights of Americans to perpetrate such horrific tragedies,” said NRA executive vice president Wayne LaPierre, adding that defending the constitutional right to commit mass murder meant accepting that mass murders were occasionally going to happen. “As saddened as we are today, we must always remember that preserving our sacred liberty to go on violent rampages is far more important than any one violent rampage.” LaPierre went on to say that legislation like recent state laws permitting guns on college campuses and an upcoming House bill that would relax restrictions on the purchase of gun silencers were vital to ensuring people had more freedom to commit much deadlier massacres, even if they sometimes lead to much deadlier massacres.

It still beggars belief that, in America, people with pre-existing mental health conditions/disorders have easy access to automatic weapons but not health insurance.

This is a mental health issue and it needs resolving.

Nice says hi.

So does Berlin, London (stop waiving London), Paris, Stockholm, Barcelona, and Jerusalem.

All of these places have had attacks within the past year and supposedly have stricter gun laws than the US does.

Let's face it, people are going to kill each other regardless of the tool they use. Gun laws wouldn't have prevented the above attacks. Should we ban cars too? What about when people start killing each other more with sporks, should we ban sporks too?

America decided at Sandy Hook that their precious guns are more important than the lives of children so what's the *** point in meaningful debate at that point?

Compare gun violence to people ramming their trucks into people as much as you want, it's still going to be as stupid as any other comparison.

You have a mass shooting nearly on a daily basis and you'll sit there and defend gun ownership.

I'm sorry, but last I looked, having health insurance doesn't mean that you get healthcare. It just makes healthcare a little more affordable for those who have rarer diseases that requires expensive treatments and medicine.

Health insurance is just a risk hedging tool that some people think is the first layer of receiving healthcare, which it is not. And even then, including in socialist medicine countries like the UK, doesn't mean you are covered by mental disorders. Health insurance doesn't usually cover it, except the high-taxed "Cadillac" plans.

The easy thing to do is what the media does. Blames the gun not the person. They can't solve mental health/ crazy guy with a gun. So they want no one to have guns. Which will never happen. So it's a non issue in America.
