Yeah but that's like saying that Mark Eaton is a Stanley Cup champion because he was along for the ride. He contributed but wasn't the factor, and is unable to reproduce one magical season.

I promise you if he could put up better numbers this would not impede his job search to a significant degree.

I'm also not criticizing what he's done.

It is a factor in his job search. Not the factor.

That out of the way...I can't weigh in heavily one way or the other because I'm a pretty casual football follower and have only seen him play a couple of times. Pretty sure he lost every time I saw him play, though that's not really the point I guess.

Anyhow. Like I said. I have to go on the word of my (quite liberal) football-obsessed friends, and they're of the opinion that...nope. He's not clear-cut starter material.

One of whom is a diehard SF fan and supporter of KC.

Right now as it stands Kapernick is average.

He is better than worse 5 starting QBs in the league. Because of his performance pedigree and contract demands, it's easy to just keep him in his marginalized status and save money.

Kapernick is only "average" because he's not playing games.

He's been marginalized because he felt the need to make a political statement on a topic the majority of Americans are not comfortable directly addressing.

It's complex.

Speaking of, how does Felarca still have her job? She's tried to bribe students into joining protests, tried to take students on unauthorized field trips to protests, and been arrested for assault and inciting a riot. Probably not the best person to be helping to shape young minds.

Also, if you have to bribe people to your cause, you belittle your own cause. "I bet most of them are paid or bribed protesters who don't really care about their cause." See?
