It's not rhetoric when it's true. California has already done mass gun confiscation and is continuing to do so today. Several other deep blue states are enacting their own versions after seeing what survives judicial review and what doesn't.

You can have whatever political religion you want, but don't say they aren't doing what they are clearly doing.

What Saevel is trying to say is that little by little they will cut back on gun rights till we have no guns period. It wont' happen over night...but it would happen.

The only reason we have guns is the founding fathers thought if the government went out of control....the people could overthrow the government...

Nothing guaranteed a quiet seat in a restaurant, free from children, like the smoking section. Because any adult who was so addicted to cigarettes as to bring their kids into smoking was the kind of parent who had no problem cuffing them to keep them quiet.

Or walking in one with an AK-47 in an Open/Carry state.

What is really crazy is you used to be able to smoke in bars. Now it is hard to find a bar where you can smoke.

Pffh. People exercising open carry with rifles of any kind are the one group of people I don't pay any attention to, because that's the only thing those people want.

Personal defense is a reasonable sidearm, open or concealed, that you can access quickly, with practiced* motion. I would actually prefer concealed because while you might scare of some low-level lowlifes with open carry, you're more likely to just warn any serious criminal what to look out for. And so many people with carry permits think they're Wyatt Earp, if a bad guy already has a weapon out the chances of your quick draw getting you anything but dead is slim. Take any advantage you can get and unless you're sure, just give 'em your damn wallet and file a police report.

*Practiced is so important. I know quite a few people who have concealed carry permits but then I watch them take their gun off/out for whatever reason and half the time they're fumbling with the catch or something and it's just like...

"You are so *** in an emergency situation."

It depends. Some cities have total indoor smoking bans, but a lot of places you can still smoke indoors as long as their food sales don't exceed a certain portion of their total income.

The gun I can see is no problem it's the concealed gun you got to worry about.

Also depends on if you have to pull down your pants to reveal it.

I thought the moderation team just targets certain posters and adheres a secondary standard against them based on their viewpoints (political and otherwise). I mean, there's years worth of evidence that supports that.

I would say that's a discontinued practice, but recent evidence from a easily rustled moderator says otherwise.
