Trump isn't a politician and isn't part of the established political elite. The goal of the current political elites is to remove Trump from power using any means necessary. So that's what this whole political theater is about, to use any and all political weapons to intimidate, dissuade or persuade President Trump into resigning so Washington elites can get control over the political process again.
