No, those aren't my standards. A low point 5 years into a Presidency is in no way comparable to Trump's lows a week into his. And really, does anyone think he has reached his lowest point yet? Does anyone think he is going to even have a high point?
Viciouss said: »
According to Gallup he started at an even 45/45 approve/disapprove and now he is at 43/52. Fastest President to ever surpass 50% disapproval. Took him a week. Some people never went that low.
He is sucking, everything he says and does is negative.
Yes, they are your standards. You rather look at one poll and determine the effectiveness of his entire presidency based on one poll.

But when your own standards are used against you......

Dammit. Stop linking back to that Merc already. I know damn well they're awful investments but I still lose track of my reason and go "Yes, yes. Buy the pretty machine!"
Buy us Ramy, be one of us, love us, worship us, become us!

Got passed by an AMG convertible back on Labor Day weekend outside of Pittsburgh coming back from a friend's holiday party.

I've never been so happy to be passed in my life.

Let me ask you this.

How do you make those logical leaps? I think we all need to learn from the master here.

Favorability and approval are different metrics. Approval starts at the start of the presidency, so the aggregate trends are not established on RCP until later on when there is more data. I was initially looking at favorability from the start of year, but figured it would make more sense to see his progress from inauguration.

On a side note, you don't do yourself any favors cherry-picking the pollster that gives Trump one of the worst ratings. There's a reason I look at aggregates.

Gallup has always been the best nonpartisan pollster. Its not cherry picking, just look at KN's wiki link there, 4 out of the 6 polls have him with a higher disapproval than approval. Only the hyper conservative rasmussen has him at a positive score.

No, I'm not "moving goalposts." I was just looking at KN's wiki page, I am not going around looking at all the conservative pollsters. Reuters is ok tho.

Congress Investigates Federal Climate Study After Whistleblower Exposes Fake Science
'Whistleblower' says protocol was breached but no data fraud
Quote:
Bates accused former colleagues of rushing their research to publication, in defiance of agency protocol. He specified that he did not believe that they manipulated the data upon which the research relied in any way.

"The issue here is not an issue of tampering with data, but rather really of timing of a release of a paper that had not properly disclosed everything it was," he said.
Basically it was an internal dispute over how the report was released concerning somewhat nuanced differences between what is considered research and what is considered operational data. Nothing was fudged and the claim that it was is outright facts I don't like published by the *** Daily Mail. Deniers are of course glomming onto it as Climategate 2.0 (1.0 has been thoroughly debunked for most of a decade now) like they do any contrary sounding news they don't actually understand but think sounds right.

And here's Pleebo, the Champion at Missing The Point.

You cannot rush a paper, use unverified data, ignore internal protocols, and call it science.

But we do have 2 things from Pleebo's post that is common with anyone who is ashamed at what the NOAA did.

1) Dismiss the source without providing any counterpoints to the source's accusations.

Cerberus.Pleebo said: »

2) Attack the person who made the accusation (or in this case, just reporting it).

Anyone else noticed what is missing from Pleebo's post? Oh right, a counterpoint. All this is is another attack post from Pleebo.

Unless something substantial is presented other then the current practice of basing current pricing on a nebulous fiscal policy that there are no details on. The honeymoon will end soon.

An attack post that landed cleanly. The whistleblower himself says there was no manipulated or false data but yet its supposed to be a story? Seems like the usual desperation from the climate deniers.

Pleebo attacked the article, not the poster. He also made a generalized critique of deniers. The poster took offense because they identify themselves as a denier. Then attempted to extrapolate that they were personally attacked while at the same time making personal attacks.

Behavior like this is why we can't have nice things.

Nothing was faked. The squabbles over internal protocols have been resolved. The findings in the 2015 NOAA paper have been independently verified in other subsequent papers since its release. Relax those *** jimmies and get over it.

So, we got people here who are ok with supposedly highly accredited agencies using unverified data and ignoring internal protocols so they can push an agenda, and when called out on it, create a strawman argument (manipulation) and say that the whole thing is based off of nothing.

And then deflect, deflect, and more deflect.

And these people wonder why nobody takes them, nor what they stand for, seriously anymore.

Don't worry climate science is just too complicated for you to unravel by yourself. That's why we pay the government to tell us the world is gonna end.
